Reflection

Home has different meanings to people. People who don’t have a physical home say

home is a feeling not a place. While people who have actually home say it is there at the

crib. Then you have to find a home at school because that is where you spend most of

your time; but probably will shape your character more there then at home. You want to

pick a school that is the best fit for you. Not your parents, not your friends, not anyone

else but yourself. This is because they aren't going to be everyday you are so it has to be

fit only for you. I know when you are younger and it is not easy to have say over your

school but high school and college you do. You are able to go out and look for schools of

your own choice. That you can pick a school because of something you have a passion or

what to learn and do. Not something that your parents or anyone else would like to do.

Your home is where you make it. This can be a place where your family lives and you

lived there all your life; or this could be a place where you feel most comfortable at and

feel the feeling home.

For service during labour of love. We worked on the garden and dug out all the

weeds, cut logs, and paint a shed as well. At first I was on the cutting logs with Drew,

Jimmy, Uzzi, and coach saunders on this station. We had to move throughout the three

stations. We were cutting logs for fires on campus and for the cafe as well. Next I got to

paint to the shed. Painting the shed made me feel as though I was close to home. This was

because we and my dad would always have sunday task around the house by my mom

and one of them was always paint the door or paint this room a new color. I am just so

use to paint things it came easy to me. The last thing we had to do was pick weeds out the

garden. This hit close to me because both my mom and grandma had planted gardens.

They ain't make me go out in the garden with them but they made my sister did. But me

being the good brother I am I use to help anyway because I didn't like sitting still and it

gave me something to do when I was bored or when I didn’t want to do homework or

anything. It took my mind off everything I had to do, I could just sit back and use my

hands which I was really good at. I enjoyed myself at labour of love. I got to serve my

new home with my new brothers on the basketball team. I hope we can serve others

throughout the year as well to better our spiritual growth. We prayed before and after so

that god could watch over the task we did and be safe. He is our lord and savior and he

asks us to go out and serve and that's what we did.
