Shelvin Lepatei,

Subject: Invitation to Participate in the African Women in Agroecology Expo 2023 in Kampala -Uganda

Dear Shelvin,

The Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA) and Participatory Ecological Land Use Management
in Uganda, Kenya and Zimbabwe are excited to extend to you an invitation to participate in the African
Women in Agroecology Expo 2023, themed “Harvesting Her Power: African Women Leading
Agroecological Transformation.” This prestigious event is scheduled for November 24, 2023 and will be
a convergence of brilliant minds and innovative spirits in the field of agroecology. The Expo will take
place in Makerere University within the Freedom Square.

We acknowledge the critical role that women play in agroecology and entrepreneurship, particularly in
sustainable agriculture, health, and nutrition outcomes. Your presence and contribution are vital for
the success of this expo, and we believe your experience and expertise will greatly enrich the
discussions and learning at this event.

In alignment with our objectives to showcase and celebrate the innovations and successes of women
in agroecology, we encourage you to bring exhibition materials that highlight how you are contributing
to the Agroecology movement. These could be in the form of products, pictures, write-ups, or any other
medium that best represents your work and achievements. We strongly believe that the more diverse
and comprehensive your display, the more impactful the expo will be.

This expo will not only serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration but
will also offer you the opportunity to connect with potential buyers, investors, and partners. It is an
occasion to elevate the visibility of African women’s contributions to agroecology and to advocate for
supportive policies and investments in this sector.

We hope you will accept this invitation and join us in this celebration of African women’s leadership in
agroecology. The Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA) and Participatory Ecological Land Use
Management in Uganda, Kenya and Zimbabwe will reimburse your costs of transport, lunches and
dinner.

Kindly ensure you have authentic receipts for transport to facilitate reimbursement. The lunches and
dinners during travel will have a flat rate allowance.

Looking forward to your positive response and enthusiastic participation.

Warm regards,

Ruth Nabaggala
