I never expected this would happen on my family vacation. My family had been

planning this vacation for a long time. We went to Tennessee first and then South

carolina. After ten hours in the car, we finally made it to our house in Tennessee. We

were only there for two days, so we changed and went to eat and walk around. This

was only the beginning of all the fun we would have.

I had never been to Nashville before, there were so many things to do and so

little time. Me and my family went downtown to eat where they had the best food. The

next day we went to the Country Music Museum and walked around some more. There

were so many tourists it felt surreal. After two days full of fun it was time to head to

Myrtle beach.

We loaded up the cars and were on our way. My sister, brother-in-law, and

nephew drove separately. It was another ten-hour drive to Myrtle beach from Nashville.

We stopped to eat at Cracker Barrel and the food was horrible. In North Carolina, there

was a two-hour detour that felt like forever. Once we finally made it to Myrtle beach we

went straight to the ocean.

Considering it was only a two-minute walk from our house, we were at the beach

a lot. Our neighbors were a bunch of college kids who partied the whole time. We got to

know them and became friends. When we were there it was also my mom's birthday.

Me and my mom went parasailing for her special day. Every year my mom takes one

kid to do something fun with her for her birthday.

The next day we spent all day at the beach where my stepdad surprised all of us.

While I and my brothers and sisters were in the water my stepdad proposed! My mom

said yes and when we walked back up to them; they told us the exciting news. We

spent the rest of our day celebrating my mom and stepdad by swimming and then

eating crab legs for dinner.

When it was time to leave my whole family was so sad that the fun was coming

to an end. Before we left we went to the beach one more time to swim and collect

shells. On the way home, we had to stop to sleep in Alabama. I can only hope that we

can go back again one day and make some more memories.
