Rules of Badminton:

1. A serve must be hit underhand and below the server’s waist. No overarm serves
allowed.
2. The shuttle cannot be caught and slung with the racket.
3. The serve must land within the service court diagonal of the server.
4. It is a fault if the serve or shot lands outside the court boundaries, passes under or
through the net, or touches any other obstructions or a player's body or clothing. Only
the boundary and service lines are considered in play.
5. The shuttlecock cannot be hit twice in succession by a player or team.
6. The score should be called before each serve.
7. A game goes to 21 points.
8. There is only 1 serve attempt.
9. The team winning a rally adds a point to their score.
10. When the serving team loses a rally, the serve changes to the opposite team.
11. There must be a 2-point lead to win a game if both teams are tied at 20. Must win ⅔
games to win the match.

Singles/Doubles Scoring:

1. At the beginning of the game (0-0) and when the server’s score is even, the server
serves from the right service court. When the server’s score is odd, the server serves
from the left service court.
2. If the server wins a rally, the server scores a point and then serves again from the
alternate service court.
3. If the receiver wins a rally, the receiver scores a point and becomes the new server.
They serve from the appropriate service court – left if their score is odd, and right if it is
even.
