Jeffrey Preston „Jeff “Bezos was Born on the 12th of January 1964 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He is
the founder and manager of the American company Amazon. The huge success of Amazon made Jeff
Bezos one of the riches person alive.

At the beginning of his career, he worked for a wealth advisory company in New York. There he met
David E. Shaw and together they came up with the idea of an online book selling company. Later this
company transformed into Amazon.

Jeff Bezos expanded his business to space traveling, new paper and an asset management company.
All together he gathered a net worth over 200 billion US-Dollar. This is the most amount of money
that one person as accumulated throughout history.

Jeff Bezos way of management I very successful. He prefers small working groups and therefor
created the “two-pizza-team-rule”. This rule states that all members of a meeting should be fed by
two pizzas. This way the groups stay small and therefor the communication works better.

But his way of management is also very controversial. He was elected as the worst manger in the
world by the international labor union in 2014 due to various reasons. The biggest complain was in
his style of leadership. Jeff Bezos denied all accusations. Nevertheless, this situation led to the
announcement for the resignation of Jeff Bezos as the CEO of Amazon in the beginning of 2021. He
said that he will resign in the third quarter of 2021.

All in all, Jeff Bezos is very inspirational and shows that the combination of innovational thinking and
the usage of new technology can build a world-wide known company. He is one of the most
successful mangers in history.
