ABBA
My favourite music band is ABBA!
ABBA is a Swedish pop supergroup that started to form in 1969 and
officialy began their music journey in Stockholm in the year 1972.
The groups name was based on the members initials (Agnetha
Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.)
They play pop, pop rock and disco genres of music and was known
for their colourful and trendy clothes / costumes they wore.
Their first modest hit was “People Need Love” (1972) and 3 years
after that “Waterloo”. More than a year later at Eurovision
(1975), ABBA truly established the group as a global pop
phenomenon. The singles “Mamma Mia” and “S.O.S.” were massive
hits worldwide. Some more big hits released by them (both in the
year 1969) were “Money, Money, Money” and “Dancing Queen”.
Their most sold album was Gold: Greatest Hits (1992) with over 30
million copies sold worldwide and the second best-selling album in
the UK.
