classical musicians have begun o
render “crossover” performances,
in which they combine classical
compositions with popular pieces
such as Jazz, Rock and Folk Music
in the same concert or recording.
For instance, such opera greats as
Luciano Pavarotti, Placido
Domingo, Jose Carreras and
Andrea Boccelli successfully drew
a large audience to their
performances by including popular
numbers in their repertoire. They
also performed side by side with
pop singers Elton John, Celine
Dion, Sting and Classical-Pop
Artist Josh Groban ; while the all-
male group II Divo operatic and
popular songs in their concerts.
