ETIQUETTE MANAGEMENT

Our behavior should be ethical using proper business etiquette. Business etiquette, often referred to as manners, is the
code of behavior expected in work situations. Many organizations weigh etiquette during the job interview as part of the
selection criteria and then for advancement. You may be thinking that it is unfair to judge job candidates by their manners,
and you may be right. However, the reality of the business world is that firms do not want employees representing their
organization who do not project a favorable image for the organization. You are judged by the way you look and act.
Unfortunately, recent college grads lack professionalism. If you haven’t been concerned with business etiquette, start now
because it is important for professional career people. We’ll give you some tips in this section regarding in-person, digital,
a possible mixture of the two.
