AAnother week, another honor for K-

pop stars BTS.

After earning its first appearance on

the Billboard Hot 100 chart a week
ago (on the Oct. 7-dated ranking), as
“DNA” debuted at No. 85, this week
BTS notches the highest-charting Hot
100 title ever by a K-pop group, as the
song surges to No. 67 (on the Oct. 14
list).

The track jumps with the chart’s top

streaming gain, as it concurrently
debuts on the Streaming Songs chart
at No. 38 with a 114 percent blast to
11.4 million U.S. streams in the week
ending Sept. 28, according to Nielsen
Music.

The Hot 100 blends streaming, sales

and radio airplay data.

The seven-member South Korean boy

band bests the only other song to have
hit the Hot 100 by a K-pop group:
Wonder Girls reached No. 76 in 2009
with “Nobody” (which the act recorded
both in English and Korean; “DNA” is
almost entirely in Korean).

BTS is the second K-pop act to chart an

almost-entirely Korean-language song
on the Hot 100, following South Korean
rapper/singer PSY, whose smash
“Gangnam Style” peaked at No. 2 for
seven weeks in 2012 (marking his first
of four Hot 100 visits to date).

As previously reported, BTS a week ago

achieved the first-ever top 10 for a
K-pop act on the Billboard 200
albums chart, as Love Yourself: Her
debuted at No. 7 (on the chart dated
Oct. 7).

All Oct. 14-dated charts, including the

Hot 100, led at No. 1 for a second
week by Cardi B‘s “Bodak Yellow
(Money Moves),” and the Billboard
200, topped by The Killers‘ No. 1-
debuting Wonderful Wonderful, will
update tomorrow (Oct. 3) on
Billboard.com.
