Book Scissors and Paper

My school has many books.
Every book has a cover.
A book folds open by its spine.
There are many paper pages
inside each book.
Each page is filled with words.
I am very careful with my scissors.
My thumb and fingers go through
the holes in the handles.
I close the handles to make
the blades close around the hinge.
The blades snip the paper.

I write with pens and pencils.
Pens are filled with ink.
A pen’s cap keeps the ink inside.
A pencil has a sharp lead tip.
The other end has an eraser

Crayons and markers let me draw
with rainbow colors.
Crayons are made of wax.
The wax has a paper wrapper.
Markers are like big, colored pens.

I can paint in rainbow colors.
My paintbrush has a long handle
and bristles to hold the paint.
I dip my paintbrush into the jars.
The jars are full of paint.
My paints come in many colors.
I carry my books in my backpack.
The straps go over my shoulders.
The backpack sits on my back.
I can pick it up by the handle.
I can zip the pockets closed
with the zippers.
