The origin of cats dates back Twelve-million years, however, its domestication began

Four-million years ago.

● In Egypt egyptians used them to keep rats away from their grain stores And that is
why they were very (COMEN) pets in most Egyptian homes. And to (RIFER) to the
cats they used the onomatopoeia "Miu".

Egyptians admired cats for their complex and dual nature. For them, (FILAINS)
combined grace, fertility and tender care with (AGRESIBNES), swiftness and danger.
Gods (RILEIDED) to these qualities were often depicted with (FILAINS)
features(FICHER), an example of this is the Egyptian Goddess Bastet.

● In the Fifteen century the people thought that black cats were diabolical or the
reincarnation of demonic beings, so black cats were (ASÓCIEIDED) with witchcraft.
And women who kept cats were considered witches.

● One of the most popular is the one that states that during that time the Church
promoted the killing of cats as agents of the Devil. This, in turn, would have facilitated
the spread of the Black Death by rats. The reality, however, is quite different: no pope
ordered the extermination of cats and, according to a recent study, the number of
cats remained stable and may even have grown during that time.

There are approximately Thirty-five species of cats that can be (CLASAFAID) into 4 groups:

Black cats: calm and quiet.


Orange cats: intelligent and sociable.
White cats: shy and distant.
Gray cats: funny and mischievous.
Two-colored cats: affectionate and playful.
Tricolor cats: active and playful.

Japan is one of the countries that love cats the most and have made them part of their
culture.

● This is a figure called Maneki Neko and it’s very famous because people
believe that it attracts fortune.

Legend has it that one day, a samurai decided to take a rest under a large
tree near a temple, suddenly he came across a cat that (SIMD) to greet him
with its paw, inviting him to enter the temple. The samurai followed it, entering
the temple just at the moment when a lightning bolt passed through the tree
where he had been resting a few minutes before. In that way, the cat saved
his life.

● Japan has nightly cat cafés. These are places where people can pet and adopt cats.

● Japan has a train called Tamaden.


This train runs the 14.3 kilometers of the Kishigawa line and is decorated with a lot of
cat-like details inspired by a cat named Tama who from 2007 to 2015 was
stationmaster.

● Aoshima is a city in Japan known as the island of cats because there are thirty-six
cats for every inhabitant.
It is an island of only 1.6 kilometers long. Around 1950 the fishermen raised cats to
kill the plagues of mice that filled the fishing boats, with time the fishing was stopped
and the cats remained on the island.
