‘STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE COVID-19 KNOWLEDGE
LEVEL AND STUDENT COMPLIANCE ATO THE HEALTH PROTOCOL AT
'NURSING’S LAB OF BORNEO TARAKAN UNIVERSITY
Abstract.
‘The Case of Covid-19 in Indonesia is so high that it reaches 155 thousand eases of
death, North Kalimantan reported 45,116 confirmed cases and 859 deaths.
Meanwhile, Tarakan city reported16,988 confirmed cases and 371 deaths. The
education process during the Covid-19 pandemic should examine the health and
safety principles. Implementing health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic
requires a factual basis for knowledge of this virus. Knowledge is essential in
shaping people's behaviours, including compliance. This research aims to
investigate the level of knowledge regarding Covid-I9 to student adherence in
enforcing the health protocol in the Nursing Lab at Borneo Tarakan University.
This research type was quantitative, with an observational analytical design using
cross-sectional methods (cross-sectional studies). The research took 100 students if
‘Nursing Department by using a three-point method. Based on the results of Chi
‘Square's tests, the results ofthe statistical tests, with a significance of 0,000 < 0,05,
‘indicated a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and compliance.
‘The research result revealed thatthe higher level of knowledge about Covid-9 is,
the higher the student compliance in enforcing health protocols, or the lower the
level of the knowledge level of students about Covid-19 is, the lower the
‘compliance.
