Referral Hospital
General Guidelines
A limited quantity of essential medicines will be available for immediate and
emergency care from PSC Games Medical Center and competition venues.
For those delegates who have written prescriptions from our Medical Doctors or
Accredited team doctors may go to PSC Games Medical Center Pharmacy for
dispensing of medications.
Dispensing of ice tubes will be available at PSC Games Medical Center.
Delegates may bring ice coolers provided they show their IDs. (* ice cube is not
for drinking, for recovery and treating injuries only)
Triaging and first aid will be on “first come, first serve” basis unless the case is
urgent enough to be prioritized according to the assessment of the medical
committee.
Accredited team doctors may be able to accompany athletes and members of their
delegation to referral hospital, with the consent of the patient or guardian, discuss
the examination and treatment with the admitting physician. Final diagnosis and
responsibility will rest to the admitting physician.
PSC Medical Committee is available to advise on athlete’s fitness to return to
play as they are assigned to every competition venue. However, the final decision
with will rest on the PSC medical consultant. If there is difference in clinical
opinion between the team doctor and the PSC medical consultant. The final
decision rests with the PSC medical committee head.
During the Games, all medical data and situational information from medical tents
and competition venues will be collected as medical records for submission to the
PSC Games Medical Center. By receiving medical services during the Games,
patients agree to allow the Medical Committee access to records related to any
medical treatment provided for injury or illness.
Medical committee and coverage members will be designated at competition
venues, focusing primarily on elite programs and contact sports. For other
competition venues will have medical professionals assigned from the LGU’s
medical team.
Should any medical issues or concerns arise during the competition regarding to
medical concerns they may contact individuals, who are listed in the index page
of this manual.

Medical Transport
Delegates requiring additional treatment will initially be taken to the PSC Games Medical
Center for evaluation.
The decision to refer any affected delegates to another hospital for specialized care will
be determined by the Medical Consultant overseeing the patient’s care at the PSC Games
Medical Center.
If the competition venue is significantly distant from the PSC Medical Center and
immediate further treatment is necessary, medical professionals stationed at the venue are
authorized to transport the patient to the closest accredited hospital.
Ambulance Drivers in the GMC will be accessible between 6am to 10pm. Outside of
these hours’ ambulance services will be available on-call for emergency situations.
3. PSC Games Medical Center
- The main headquarters of the PSC Games Medical Center will be situated at Medical
Scientific and Athlete Services (MSAS) within the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex,
Ocampo Street, Malate, Manila City. Additionally, another center will operate at the
MSAS building of Philsports Complex in Meralco Avenue, Pasig City, Metro Manila.
- Operating hours for the services will be from 6am to 10pm.
- Services including:
o Medical Consultation and Services (Triaging and First Aid)
o Center of Operations (RMSC H Q Only)
o Ice Station
o Pharmacy
o Dental Services
Nursing Services
- Assesses health status of athletes, coaches, and officials.
- Assists medical consultants in treating patients.
- Maintains medical equipment in good working conditions.
- Helps in the promotion of preventive medicine.
- Ensures health counseling and health teaching.
- Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports,
and examination results.
- Coordinate work with physicians and other allied health workers.
- Dispensing of medication with prescription from medical consultants or accredited
health care providers.
- The exam room will have a consultation table, an examination/treatment bed, and
massage tables proportional to the number of medical proportional to the number of
medical personnel assigned to the venue. The exam room will also have chairs for
patients consulting and waiting.
- A supplies area and pharmacy area will be assigned to PSC Games Medical Center
and should be kept clean and items should be organized and easily accessible. Only
the medical committee will have access to the medical supplies.
