How to use brushes
painting brush (not blendable)

My recommended order to
color using this brush:
1. Base color
2. Shadows
3. Highlights

I mostly use this to color the

upper layers of blush and
hair/clothes highlights since it
doesn’t blend in with other
colors.

I mainly use this to layout the

moving on to detailing.

Just experiment with it!

How to use brushes
detailing 1

My recommended order to
color using this brush:
1. Highlights
2. Shadows
3. Basecolor

If you try to paint over another

color it will blend in easily! So
it’s best to use this when you
want to make a smooth
gradation!

detailing 2

I mostly use this to highlight hair! I find it

really easy to cross hatch with this, though!

You might’ve noticed already but drawing

this /// way makes thinner more precise
strokes while drawing this \\\ way makes
wider and smoother strokes.

How to use brushes
airbrush (with canvas texture)

I use this brush to make my

paintings pop off more!

1. Make a new layer on top

2. Use this brush to lightly
color around the focal
point of your painting
3. Set the layer to add or
overlay
4. Adjust the opacity to your
liking

sketch
I designed this brush so that
it’s thicker when you put more
pressure! Feel free to adjust
the brush to your liking!

I usually use this brush to add

the eye highlights too.

If you want to do linearts with

this, simply adjust the
streamline so it’s easier to
handle.

Rendering

The key is to keep on layering! If you want more colors

My brushes are slightly you can simply make a

How I start a painting
Some tips from me!

1. I always start with an underpainting. You can color it

manually, but to save time I like to just use the
background color (saves up layers too!)

2. Then I’ll start coloring in blobs of colors (If you see closely
you can see the green underpainting a bit)

3. For the shading I like to only use either one or two colors
for everything. This time I use blue because it
complements the red scarf well)

4. While coloring the blobs you should occasionally zoom

out and see the painting from afar! It’s easier to observe
the color harmony this way.

5. Once you’re done you can start sketching and rendering

the details. The blobs of color are solely for reference.

6. I use the painting (blendable) brush!
