1 Geotechnical Information
1.1 Location and Area
a) Location of Site: Bhadla – IV, Bap, District Jodhpur, Rajasthan
b) Latitude & Longitude: 27.502906 N, 71.944164 E
c) Area: Total area is about 1000 hectares for the 500 MW Solar Plant Capacity

1.3 Proposed Site Conditions
Total 500 MW is divided into the 5 plots each for 100 MW capacity. P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5.
Earlier P5 was proposed for the DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) Category.

1.4 Soil Investigation Report
As per the soil investigation report of the site, litho logically comprises of dune sand and
alluvium of recent geological age followed by rocks of permo-carboniferous and Jurassic
periods.
As visited from the nearby existing/under execution plants it is studied that pile depth may
vary from 2.7 m to 3.5 m as the strata of the soil is much sandy. (Refer below image for soil
strata).

2 Electrical Analysis
2.1 AC Capacity for each Plot
Each Plot is proposed to have an AC capacity of 100 MW.

2.2 Switchyard Details

Figure 2-1 Power Evacuation Scheme for 500 MW IL&FS Solar Park

The Power is to be evacuated from the Solar Power Plant at 33 kV and to be connected to
the 33/220 kV Substation.
Metering as per the CEA norms to be installed at the 33/220 kV Substation.

Figure 2-3 220/400 kV Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RVPN)

2.3 Transmission Line Details

The power from each plot is to be evacuated to 33/220 kV substation via 33 kV cable through
the trenches.
As per the SLD provided by Surya Urja Company IL&FS, 4 feeders would be provided per
block i.e. 100 MW for the power evacuation at 33 kV in the 33/220 kV Substation.
The main RVPN 220/400 kV substation is located approximately 14 kms from the Suraj
33/220 kV substation. Conductors used will be AL-59 lines equivalent to moose.
Route Survey for the transmission line is completed and foundations for about 14 to 15
towers is in progress. Contract is awarded to M/s Karnimata Construction Company (KMCC).
Expected to be completed by August 2017.

2.4 Pooling Substation Distance

Following is the tentative distance of the pooling substation from the respective plot. This
would be the tentative distance for the 33-kV cable to be run.

Plot No. Distance in metre

4 Points to be taken care
1) As the strata of the soil is loose i.e. sandy soil the depth of the pile can vary from 2.5 to
3.5 m below Natural Ground Level (NGL).
2) As the precast boundary wall is in the scope of IL&FS so for the boundary for the inter
plant can be considered of cross link chain fencing instead of cement precast in order
to save cost.
3) As the substation is in the cost of IL&FS so BoS cost of switchyard such as power
transformer and associated switchgear must not be considered.
4) For each 100 MW plant, 4 feeders will be provided at the pooling substation which is to
be carried from the plant to pooling substation via cable trays. (Refer below fig.)
