Router Troubleshooting Steps:

Verify Router Operation: Verify that the router test LED is green (the upper LED in the picture
below). If there is no green LED then check the 12 VDC supply. If the 12 VDC is present then
the router board should be replaced.

Verify PC connection: Open the Command Prompt by clicking on the Windows button in the
lower left hand corner (circled in the image below) and type CMD then select Command Prompt.
From the prompt type in ipconfig.

There are two numbers to look at to confirm if the router is working properly.

1. IPv4 Address: This is the PC’s LAN address (the computer itself). This address should
be set between 172.22.22.100-172.22.22.199. If this reading is set to 169.254.X.X this
would be an indication that the router has failed and may need to be replaced.
2. Default Gateway: The vendor factory setting is 192.168.10.1 and Hunter sets it
172.22.22.254. This is a dynamic setting. In some cases the shop’s IT personal will
request that the router Default Gateway be set to a static IP address for security reasons.
If this needs to be done use Form 7665-T to set the static IP address.
Restoring Router Operation:

Quick Restore: If for any reason these two address are not set properly a quick way to
reestablish them is to run ipconfig /renew (note that there is a space between ipconfig and the
slash) at the command prompt. This may take several minutes to run.

Restoring Hunter Configuration: If the router has defaulted to the Default Gateway of 192.168-
.10.1 and the ipconfig/renew does not resolve the issue you can download the 45-1655-2 Router
Board Rest file from the download section under service > inspection equipment and place it on
the Windows desktop. This is a zip file containing firmware V3.12 configuration, dsr-250-
password.cfg, and firmware V3.13 configuration, DSR250_Ver_3_13_WW_Hunter.

Then open Internet Explorer and entered in the 192.168.10.1 into the address bar.

When the browser indicates that the IP address is not present, enter 172.22.22.254 into the
address line in IE and verify that you can login to the router.

Run ipconfig from the command line as shown above and verify that the Default Gateway is set
to 172.22.22.254.

Hardware Reset:

If the Default Gateway is set to something other than 192.168.10.1 or 172.22.22.254 the router
may need to be hard reset. To do this remove the ULIB box out of the cabinet leaving the cables
connected.

Frequently Asked Questions

The rest button may be accessed by placing something non conductive (like a coffee straw) in the
7th hole from the right of the top row of holes.

Press and hold in the reset button for 10-15 seconds. The green test LED (top LED in the picture
below) should go out momentarily and then turn yellow. The yellow LED should change back to
green indicating that the reset was successful. This process could take up to three minutes.

Once the green LED comes back on open up the command prompt and type ipconfig and
confirm that the IPv4 address (PCs LAN) is between 192.168.10.100-192.168.10.199 and the
Default Gateway is 192.168-10.1 (vendor factory default).

New username is admin.

New password is admin.

After confirming this, follow the Restoring Hunter Configuration procedure from above.
Remember if this is on a static network to set it up using Form 7665-T.
