Holy Spirit Prayer

“The Holy Spirit is a unique person and not simply a power or an influence.”

I remember thinking as a child that the Holy Spirit was more like a ghost than a
real, concrete being, we could miss so much!! ...relating to the person of the
Spirit and actually conversing and interacting with him.

We have to understand that the Spirit of God, the third person of the Trinity, is
personal...

As a person, He may be grieved (Eph. 4:30),

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of
redemption.

He may be quenched in terms of the exercise of His will (1 Thess. 5:19),

Do not quench the Spirit

and He may be resisted (Acts 7:51).”

You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just
like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit!

He prays with us and for us…Rom.8:26

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought
to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

Holy Spirit,
You are God. We praise you because you are holy, and thank you for dwelling in our
hearts. Thank you for working in our lives. You guided us into salvation, renewed
our dead spirits and opened our eyes to the Truth. Thank you.
Forgive us…

Grieved you
Quenched you
Resisted you
Interceed for us…
Help me to see you more clearly – to recognize your movement in my life. Make me
more sensitive to you so I can follow you more closely. Still, I know that I am
selfish and rebellious. I need you to help me be obedient when I recognize your
leading. I need you.I ask you for your help and comfort today. You know my pain and
anxieties very well. Thank you for praying over me. Help me to rest in your comfort
today.Help me to walk in you, the Spirit of God. Grow good fruit in my life. You
are the one who produces these in me: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We cannot live out these
things on my own; We need you.

Jn 3:5-8

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless
they are born of water and the Spirit.
6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’
8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where
it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
