The problem of medical expenses for chronic diseases is emerging as a big problem for families and the country. Ithas been found that active oxygen is the main cause of chronic diseases. Active oxygen is an oxygen compound that is generated not only in the metabolic process of body cells of animals and plants, but also in large amounts by external environmental pollution such as ozone, nitrie oxide, ultraviolet rays, and smoking, These are known to cause aging, arteriosclerosis, dementia, cancer, ete. (Lee et al., 2006). In general, in the normal human respiration process, about 95% of oxygen is used to make energy, and 4-5% is used to produce active oxygen. The generated active oxygen play an important role in the cell signaling system or generation, act as a cell messenger, and regulate oxidation/reduction reactions (Harman, 1956). They promote the activation of enzymes, drug detoxification and glycogen synthesis. If there is an appropriate amount of these, it protects the body from bacteria and foreign substances. On the other hand, when they occur excessively, they attack normal cells indiscriminately, causing chronic diseases, and becoming the main cause of various diseases such as cancer, diabetes, dementia, and aging (Freeman & Crapo, 1982; Cross et al, 1987). More than 90% of modem disease causes are active oxygens, and they have been found to be the cause of aging (Slater, 1984). Hydrogen is being used as a powerful antioxidant that removes active oxygens. Hydrogen is reported to be effective in both drinking and inhalation on the human body, and itis also reported to be effective in aging and chronic diseases, atopic dermatitis, dementia, and cerebrovascular diseases (Lee & Youn, 2002), Therefore, this study tried to confirm if active oxygen in the blood decreased with time after drinking hydrogen water. Materials and Methods 1. Experimental materials ‘The hydrogen water used in the experiment was Few Rich Hydrogen Water", (Hayannamoo Beverage Co., Ltd., Korea), and the properties of this hydrogen water were pH 7.5, dissolved hydrogen amount of 1.5 ppm, ORP - 650 mY.
