Blog 3 In-Service Reflection

Our project at Garces Foundation has been a thrilling journey of progress and

reflection. We're on a mission to empower female students, particularly mothers, by tailoring

resources and support to their unique needs.

The plan is to complete the project this semester, though we remain open to the

possibility of future Practice Teaching students carrying it forward. Team responsibilities

were allocated based on individual skills and experiences, ensuring a well-rounded approach.

We've categorized the project into three parts: Kids’ involvement, Well-being support, and

time management. With nine teamsmembers, we've formed three groups to tackle each

component. As for now, we have already divided the detailed responsibilities of each part,

which is subject to change as we progress due to the ever-evolving nature of our project as

we delve deeper. Vivy, Chen, Ziyi, & Yajing are responsible for finding soft toys or gathering

information on them, while Pax, Christina, & Mark are responsible for locating suitable

online picture books and providing web links.

My role in creating an online discussion space with Valeria is personally fulfilling.

Drawing from my undergraduate experience, I recall a similar project where I was part of a

team responsible for developing an online forum for a language learning course. We created a

platform where students could engage in discussions, share resources, and collaborate on

projects. It was incredibly rewarding to witness how this digital space fostered a sense of

community among the students, enhancing their learning experience. The ability to provide a

space where students can engage, share, and learn together excites me.

Despite challenges like varying deadlines between different sections and team

availability, our cooperative teamwork has been exceptional. Everyone in our team offer

thoughts and share gathered information regularly. I look forward to seeing our ideas come to

life and make a meaningful impact on the community, which provides me with a valuable

real-world learning experience in navigating the complexities of education and support.
