OPERATION aA. General ‘The AIRCRAFT INTEGRATED DATA SYSTEM TEST SET enables display of the data delivered by the flight data acquisition units (FDAU, DFDAU) or the data processing units (DMU, MCU). It gives a direct reading of the values of the words selected in the selected short cycle. It permanently displays the time in ARINC message coded form. Operation (Ref. Figs. 2, 13 and 24 to 27) All controls and displays are positioned on the front face. (1) Front face - 12 LEDs (1 red, 1 green and 10 yellow) giving binary value of selected word. When LED is on, corresponding bit is at logic 1. ‘The red LED corresponds to bit 1 (LSB) and the green LED to bit 2. - 5 red 7-segment digital display numbers permanently give GMT (hours, minutes, tenth of a minute, depending on case) decoded in word 37 of sub-frame 1 and 3. - 1 ARINC switch for correct decoding of bits for GMT value into ARINC 573 or 717. = 1 SYNCHRO FAIL LED which comes on when input signal is absent or if synchro word is erroneous. - 1 BIPHASE/RZ switch for selection of input signal form. ~ 1 NORM/PLAYBACK switch. + When switch is in NORM position the tool reads FDAU, DMU or MCU output, + When switch is in playback position the tool reads DFDR output via FDAU. - 1 ON-OFF switch for 115V-400Hz power supply. - 1 FUSE. 1.2 Page 1 Feb 28/85 AEROSPATIALE = 1 connector 851-00RC20-41PN serves for : . Receiving the input signals. + Programming synchro word read for each equipment, model. + Programming manual SPEED selection. + Receiving the tool power supply of 115V-400Hz (isolated input) or + 5vpDC in relation to chassis. This enables easier discrete read. 4 red 7-segment digital display numbers giving the value of the selected word in decimal, octal or BCD. - 1 DIM/BRT potentiometer to adjust display brightness. - 1 BNR/BCD switch to display value of selected word in binary (decimal or octal) or BCD form. In BCD, value is displayed via 3 windows. - 1 DECIMAL/OCTAL switch to display value of selected word in decimal or octal form when BNR/BCD switch is placed in BNR position. - 1 10 BITS/12BITS switch to calculate value of selected word over the 10 MSBs, when bits 1 and 2 are discretes, or over 12 bits. = 1 TEST pushbutton which causes all the LEDs to come on and displays 8's in all display windows. - 4 thumbvheels for selection of sub-frame and word. In short cycle position 0 the 4 sub-frames are displayed successively. - 1 red OVERFLOW LED which comes on if selected word is greater than 4. - 1 SPEED selector for selection of the number of words in the : 64, 128, 256 or 512. 1.2 Page 2 Feb 28/85 AEROSPATIALE CONTROL SUPPLY (Front Face) SYNCHRO CARD DISPLAY CARD LEDs (Front Face) THUMBWHEEL {Front Face) CONNECTOR 45V +5V DIGITAL DISPLAY Front Fas AIDS TEST SET Synoptic Diagram Figure 13 1.2 Pages 3-4 Feb 28/85 AEROSPATIALE GROUND EQUIPMENT MANUAL (2) Function of cards (Ref. Fig. 24, 25 and 26) (a) (b) SYNCHRO card (Ref. Fig. 24) The SYNCHRO card generates : - An NRZ signal and its clock from the biphase signal. It compares this signal to the synchro word defined by cable strap configuration and delivers the synchro signal. - The measurement strobe from the clock, the synchro and the thumbwheels. - The hour and minute strobes from the clock, the synchro and the word 37. Commands Fl and F2 determine the clock frequency and L1 and L2 the number of words per sub-frame. DISPLAY card (Ref. Fig. 25) The VALUE circuit receives the clock, NRZ and strobe measurement signals, determining the binary value of the selected word, and displays it via the flip-flops on the 12 LEDs. This data, which can be shifted by 2 bits by the 12 BITS/10 BITS switch, is transferred to memories M1 and M2 where it is transcoded into decimal. The different decimal, octal, BNR and BCD values are selected by multiplexers and transmitted to the digital displays via the TEST card. An erase signal is generated when the values are not valid. The GMT circuit receives the clock, NRZ, Strobe Hour and Strobe Minute signals which determine the binary value of the selected GMT. Decoding enables display of tens of hours, hours, tens of minutes and 1/10 ths of minutes depending on whether ARINC 573 or 717 is allocated by the multiplexers controlled by ARINC switch (573/717). An oscillator circuit adjusts display brightness by means of the DIM/BRT potentiometer. An amplifier compares the two Biphase input signal lines and delivers the Biphase signal used by the SYNCHRO card. 1-2 Page 5 Feb 28/85 AEROSPATIALE (GROUND EQUIPMENT MANUAL The TEST circuit lights the LEDs in test mode. (c) TEST card (Ref. Fig. 26) All information delivered by this card must be transferred to the digital displays. Either this information or 8's are displayed by means of the multiplexers controlled by TEST pushbutton. A logic circuit controls digital display power supplies from the Erase, DIM, BRT and Synchro information. (3) Function of cables (Ref. Fig. 14 to 23, (a) Cable 99A3130-1100-300 (Ref.
