It was the perfect wedding, the guest thought

The groom was Orpheus, the greatest of all poets and musicians

The bride Eurydice, a wood nymph

Anyone could tell the couple was truly and deeply in love

Father (Justine)- Orpheus do you love Eurydice?

Orpheus (Gelo)- Yes father

Father (Justine)- Eurydice do you love Orpheus?

Eurydice ( Aries)- Yes father

Suddenly, Eurydice stumbled, then fall to the ground. By the time Orpheus reached her side, she was
dead. And the snake that had bitten her was slithering away through the grass

Orpheus (Gelo)- Hey, hey, Eurydice, please stay with me. Come on don’t die my love please

Orpheus was overcome with a grief the human world could not contain, and he decided he would
journey to the land of the dead, a place from which no living creature had ever returned, to rescue his
beloved.

When Orpheus reached the gates of the underworld, he began to strum his lyre. The music was so
beautiful that cerberus the three headed dog who guards the dead.

Lay down as Orpheus passed

Charon, the ferry captain who changed dead souls to cross the river styx . Was so moved by the music
that he brought Orpheus across free if charge.

When Orpheus entered the palace of Hades and Persephone the king and queen of the dead he began
to sing. He sang of his love for Eurydice, and said had been taken away too soon.

The they would come when she like all living creatures dwelled in the land of the dead for all eternity, so
couldn’t Hades grant her just a few more years on Earth.

Hades and Persephone granted Orpheus please, but on one condition.

Persephone (Aries)- oh, please, my husband, let Eurydice be reunited with Orpheus

Hades(Aldrin)- I, too feel the sadness of Orpheus. I cannot refuse him

They summoned Eurydice, and the two lovers clasepes each other and turned to leave

Hades(Aldrin)- Wait! Eurydice is yours to take back to earth on one condition

Orpheus (Gelo)- What is that?

Hades(Aldrin)- She must follow you, and you must not look back at her until you are on earth again

Orpheus (Gelo)- I understand and I’am forever grateful

Orpheus and Eurydice left the underworld and made their way through the dark passage that led to the
upperworld. At last they reached the cave through which Orpheus had descended

Orpheus (Gelo)- I can see daylight ahead. We are almost there

Orpheus turned to make sure that she was still following him. He caught one last glimpse of her arms
stretchedout to him. And then she disappeared, swallowed by darkness.

Orpheus heard Eurydice’s cry as she was carried back to the underworld. Orpheus tried to follow her but
thistime the gods would not allow it. And so he wandered the earth alone. He sang his sad songs to the
trees andlonged for the time when he too, would die and be reunited with his beloved Eurydice in the
underworld
