control his emotions. So that was the first lesson Vito learned: never make naked threats. He could
have obviously said: I will put his life in danger. But instead he expresses the matter in a
euphemistic way.
Page 9: You won't even call me Godfather, which can be called one of the most iconic lines of all
time, and when someone approaches Vito on a matter, instead of showing enough respect to do so,
they just say, You're going to have to do me a favor and settle this. And instead of getting angry,
Vito says, You won't even call me godfather.
