The Banshees of Inisherin

The movie named “The Banshees of Inisherin” is a movie about friendship. There are two man
who is known for their friendship, their names are Padraic Suileabhain and Colm Duherty. Padraic has a
sister named Siobhan and unfortunately their parents are already dead.

One day, Padraic walked through the neighborhood and down to the beach before entering the
house of his friend, Colm. Padraic talk to him about going out at the pub but Colm seems to not care
about his existence while smoking. It makes me wonder why his friend is acting like that then the
mellow background music suddenly came in like it was a very sad sight. Padraic went to pub without
Colm then he see him entering and talk to him again but what Colm said make him stunned. He said
something like he don’t like me no more that’s why his best friend has been avoiding him. It is such a
weird start of a movie that makes me wonder why his best friend is suddenly acting like that to him.

Then, Dominic son of the police in Inisherin bumped into Padraic and they greet each other
while he is on his way home. When Padraic got home he was greeted by her sister by saying Mrs.
McComrick will come over in their house. Abbhorence seems too seen in her face while saying that.
When I first saw the face of Mrs. Comrick I know exactly that she is no ordinary woman in the movie
because of her look and aura screams like she is a witch.

Dominic and Padraic are talking again while drinking. Dominic sneak to his father’s room not
minding his father’s naked body. They settle in a silent place and continued they’re business in drinking.
Padraic initiated the talk and said “Colm changed” he reasoned out that is former friend which is him is
dull. Dominic also tell his problem, which makes me felt chills and anger inside me. He said that he is
experiencing fiddling or getting beaten black and blue. I felt sad for Dominic that he is experiencing such
thing for his age. I also noticed that he is a symptom of a special child.

After that day, Padraic went to the telephone house to deliver something then he bumped into
to Peadar Kearney, father of Dominic. He got beaten up after saying words that triggered him. Colm saw
that and he helped him get up to his horse and lead the way while holding the rope that controls the
horse till they reach the road that leads way to his home and they went apart. Colm said This scene
makes me feel hope about their friendship. But then Mrs. McComrick is there inside the telephone
house, sitting like a dead lady. The camera man just let us see her glimpse but it is enough for me to
confirm my hunch that she may be the reason behind this.

Afternoon at the pub after Colm went to the church and talk to the priest, he went to pub and
talk to Padraic. Padraic admitted his talk with the Priest. Then Colm said things that make Padraic out of
himself, he said that he will cut his finger everytime he will talk to him. No one believes him but her
sister warned her not to come near him again

Night at the pub, he is there again watching Colm talking to Peadar. Padraic is drunk and he
burst out his madness in front of Colm, he said that he don’ give a f*ck about music. Then there this Mrs.
McComrick again giving glimpse of her. Padraic said “So you'd rather be friends with this fella, would ya?
A fella who beats his own son black and blue every night that's he's not fiddling with him.” Dominic then
said “I never told him that, daddy. He's just drunk now.” Feeling him shivering while talking. It makes me
sad that his father is like that to him. I expect much from him in the start of a movie that he is a good
and dedicated police officer.
 On the morning Padraic talk to Colm to say sorry. Colm replied with annoying voice “why can’t
you just leave me alone Padraic?” after their talk. Afternoon came and padraic is at his house with her
sister when they suddenly hear a bang, her sister thought it was just a bird but she was frightened to see
the finger of Colm. . I was shock with the sudden bang on the door of their house and saw a finger, a
finger of Colm. I was not expecting it to be true.

A peaceful day for Colm because Padraic stopped talking to him. Then suddenly, Padraic came to
his house again and talk to him, they talked about the song that he is thinking to giving it a title of “The
Banshees of Inisherin” even though there is no banshees in Inisherin. He thought they were okay and I
thought too. But after Padraic goes out, colm’s dog went to get the sciccor which he uses to cut his
finger. Colm get it from his dog. He did it afain, cut his fingers 1 multiplied by 5.

A peaceful day went to chaotic for the both of them. Padraic sister leave the Insherin, his
dunkey whom Padraic is always with is dead after accidentally eating fingers of Colm. Adraic is mad that
he burned the house of his ex friend. They made things complicated because of broken friendship.
Dominic also killed himself after all the chaos.

It is an unforgettable emotional and chaotic film. An old man who is mentally sick because he is
old and leaving their friendship behind. A friendship can fizzle out; we never know when our friends will
eventually tire of us. It makes me wonder what will happen if my best friend abandons me one day and I
experience the same feelings and emotions. It is a question that has remained with me since watching
the film.
