Students learned basic cyber security concepts and real-world case studies. The workshop concluded with an introduction to the instructors' cybersecurity analyst course.

Date: November 1 -Tuesday In this digital world, where people are increasingly wired to social media and the internet, the concerns of cyber security, cyber bullying, cyber hygiene are pertinent. With this notion, the Department of Computer science and Engineering, in effect of an MOU signed by MEA Engineering College, hosted a workshop on Cyber security by Red Team Hacker Academy. Cyber security experts Mr Vishnu P Das and Bilal Rasheed (Researchers and Instructors) were the resource persons. Workshop conducted on November 1st , Tuesday at 10 am in CSE Computer Lab. The session saw an overwhelming response with 67 registration from students. Participants registered from final years and Pre final years. Due to limitations of the computer lab used, many participants were unable to participate. The session named “Workshop on Cyber Security ”, began with discussion about the latest cyber crimes being committed around the country. Next they checked the Kali linux install in Virtual box as it was instructed to do before .They also helped to install for those who didn’t. They told the students to login to the TryHackMe website. A file is downloaded and connected to open VPN. Taught the students to create a virtual machine(server) in TryHackMe website to get the IP. Students hacked the created virtual machine by using the IP. Students are also familiarized with many commands such as dirb, gobuster etc… At 1 pm trainers concluded the workshop and they introduced their new cybersecurity analyst course (CCSA) to the students for a favourable rate exclusively for the students. Many students showed interest in joining the course. During this workshop students learned about basic concepts of cyber security. Researcher Vishnu P Das shared and discussed real case studies related to Cyber-attacks and cyber-crime. It was an informative workshop, which was truly appreciated by participants. We look forward to organizing a 2 or 3 Day Hands-On workshop in the near future.
