IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD?

Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life,
and Sarah shall have a son. (Gen 18:14)

Back in the Old Testament days, three men visited Abraham. The Bible makes us understand
that the men were two angels and the LORD GOD Himself. Abraham and his wife Sarah were
waiting for the promise God had given concerning the birth of Isaac. Both of them were very
old and it was impossible for them to produce in the natural sense. Abraham and Sarah were
100 and 90 years respectively.
“And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy
wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. Now
Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after
the manner of women. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old
shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore
did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is any thing too hard
for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and
Sarah shall have a son. (Gen 18:10-14)”

The LORD GOD told Abraham that they were going to have a child. In the natural sense, their
situation was hopeless. So, maybe we can say, Sarah was justified by her reaction to what the
LORD GOD said. She actually laughed at what God said. Why did she laugh? She looked at
the hopelessness in the flesh and forgot that this same God created the whole universe. Now,
the LORD GOD asked a very passionate question that stirs up something in me whenever I
read or remember that scripture. He asked, Is anything too hard of the LORD? Beloved, I feel
as though the LORD GOD is asking me that same question. I don’t know if you feel the same.
No matter who you are there’s always something in plan you’ll want to do or achieve.

Beloved, ask yourself if you are behaving like Sarah. Frankly, Sarah’s case isn’t any different
from how some Christians behave in similar situations. Come to think of it, we are supposed
to be better than the people in the Bible days. We have so many examples to learn from, yet
some Christians behave even worse than the people in the Bible days. One thing I have
observed personally is that when you focus on your problems, God becomes insignificant in
your life. “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not
seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are
eternal. (2 Cor 4:18)”. The Bible says, that the things which are seen are subject to change. It
means, no matter how hard it is, there’s always a way somewhere. That way is in God. I’d want
you to start thinking of the things you need to achieve or desire in this life. Imagine the LORD
GOD standing right in front of you, asking the same question; Is anything too hard for the Lord?

Consider how great the LORD GOD is and answer the question for yourself. Beloved, anytime
things seem to be hard in your life, remember this story of Abraham and Sarah’s encounter
with the LORD GOD. It will help your faith. At the end, God who is so faithful fulfilled His
promise; Isaac was born. Indeed, nothing is ever too hard for the Lord. With God all things are
possible. Anything at all is possible. Just Anything! Believe. Have faith in Him. God Bless you.

PEACE BE UNTO YOU
