NATIONAL ADULT ALS CERTIFICATION: 2 DAY PROGRAM ACCCN offers a two-day Adult Advanced Life Support program to healthcare professionals in the provision of Adult Basic and Advanced Life Support in a clinical setting. The program content runs over two days with certification for both BLS and ALS on the second day. Based on the latest Australian Resuscitation Council Statements on Basic and Advanced Life Support; ANZCOR 2016 guidelines, the program incorporates theoretical lectures, clinical skill stations and scenarios. Registration includes a program manual and e-learning material. Program content includes: Priorities of care + Basic Life Support algorithm and principles * Adult Advanced Life Support algorithm and principles + Advanced airway management including laryngeal mask airway insertion + Electrical therapy — defibrillation, synchronised cardioversion, external pacing + Pharmacology including intraosseous cannulation + Post Resuscitation care + Team roles + Legal and ethical This program is most suitable for those with little or no experience or knowledge of ALS or those wanting a comprehensive update. A total of 16 CPD hours are assigned to this program (based on 12 hours program contact and four hours self-directed learning) Annual recertification and frequent review of ALS practice in line with ANZCOR guidelines is recommended NATIONAL ADULT ALS RECERTIFICATION: 1 DAY PROGRAM ACCCN recommends annual recertification in advanced life support, and offers a one-day theoretical and practical Adult Advanced Life Support recertification program for healthcare professionals. Based on the latest Australian Resuscitation Council Statements on Basic and Advanced Life Support; ANZCOR 2016 guidelines,, the morning is a review of ALS content with the opportunity to apply those concepts in practice scenarios. The theoretical and practical assessment for recertification will follow in the afternoon. Registration includes a program manual and e-learning material. Morning review of the following topics will include: Priorities of care Basic Life Support algorithm and principles Adult Advanced Life Support algorithm and principles Airway management and electrical therapy skill stations Practice scenarios in team roles Atotal of 10 CPD hours are assigned to this program, (including six hours program contact and four hours self-directed learning). The focus is to develop skill and understanding around resuscitation education. Time is spent developing and practising instructor skills including teaching simulations and ALS assessments. Participants always comment what a great networking opportunity this program is, particularly to share challenges and solutions around ALS/BLS delivery. This course also includes an ALS recertification in either adults or paediatrics, based on the 2016 ANZCOR guidelines. Program content includes: * Content delivery + Simulation scenario development and implementation + Debriefing as a learning tool + Conducting assessments + Providing feedback + Opportunity for resuscitation educators to network with their peers + ALS recertification Each participant is provided with an Instructor reference manual (including self directed exercises and practical tips) and an e-copy of our Adult or Paediatric ALS manual upon paid online registration. Atotal of 16 CPD hours are assigned to this program (based on 12 hours program contact and four hours self-directed learning.) Successful participants will be placed on the ACCCN National ALS Database. Pre course requirements: Candidates must have current ALS certification to gain ALS recertification. If not, we suggest completely an ALS certification course prior to this one. If unsure please feel free to contact the course convenor to discuss this prior to registering for this course. Bi-annual recertification and frequent review of ALS practice in line with ANZCOR guidelines is recommended NATIONAL INSTRUCTOR RECERTIFICATION: 1 DAY PROGRAM This program is suitable for healthcare professionals who teach Advanced Life Support and have existing Instructor and ALS certification. The focus is to provide an update to resuscitation research and education. This course also includes an ALS recertification in either adults or paediatrics, based on the 2016 ANZCOR guidelines. Program content includes: Content delivery - didactic presentation Simulation scenario development and implementation Debriefing as a learning tool Conducting ALS assessments Opportunity for resuscitation educators to network with their peers ALS recertification Each participant is provided with an Instructor reference manual (including self directed exercises and practical tips) and an e-copy of our Adult or Paediatric ALS manual upon paid online registration. total of 10 CPD hours are assigned to this program (based on 6 hours program contact and four hours self-directed learning).
