Chloorruber coating HB
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------
Low maintenance coating for long-term wet environments
Chloorrubbers a universal elastic and reversible high-build coating for cement/concrete and metals. Can
be used on surfaces with long-term water loads.

Chloorruber HB Coating is a high-build, physically drying semi-gloss chlorinated rubber coating. The
product is very suitable for use as a top coat for pre-treated ship parts or machine parts, pipes or
structural parts made of metal, concrete structures and the like.

Processing
Chloorruber HB Coating can be processed very easily with a good fleece roller. A well filled 2-component
fleece roller should preferably be used to apply sufficient material. Chloorruber HB Coating can also be
sprayed perfectly using Airless equipment. It is preferable not to dilute Chloorruber HB Coating before
rolling or spraying.

Processing in full sunlight or when there is a lot of wind may cause blistering. Processing on a heated
surface is not possible.

Always ensure sufficient ventilation and protection, in particular when processing in deep reservoirs.
Solvent vapours may accumulate at the bottom of the reservoir and cause respiratory problems.
When using in ponds or swimming pools, rinse with clean water once or twice beforehand. Do not use in
ponds containing fish or ornamental fish!

Characteristics
Chloorrubber HB Coating is a 1-component quick- drying and reversible coating. Its reversible character
ensures that the newly applied coats bond with the old ones, which always creates optimum adhesion
that does not require sanding.

Because Chloorrubber HB Coating is highly water-resistant and seals fully, it is excellent for permanently
wet environments such as the underwater hull, steel structures in bathrooms, concrete foundations and
swimming pools and ponds (for swimming or otherwise).
Note: chlorinated water (swimming pools) or UV (when used outdoors) may cause a certain level of
discoloration/greyness in the long run. This is inherent in the product.

Features
Quick-drying Reversible Highly water-resistant Easy to maintain

Packaging and colours

Chloorrubber HB Coating is available in white and in RAL colours, supplied in 5-litre packs.

Risks
Using ChloorrubberHB Coating in swimming pools or other types of concrete water reservoirs is entirely
at your own risk.
Damage and/or consequential damage caused by problems such as rising groundwater, condensation
resulting from insufficient insulation around the reservoir, osmosis formation, faulty concrete composition
etc., will therefore in principle not be considered by Shipcoat B.V.

Description/Main features.

- A high-build, physically drying semi-gloss chlorinated rubber coating.

- As the final coat on pre-treated steel and as primer and top coat on thermally galvanised steel
and cement plaster and concrete. The black variant is highly suitable for treatment of the ship’s
shell.
- Resistant to chemicals
- Highly water-resistant
- Resistant to the usual cleaning agents for swimming pools( if in doubt, try a test patch)
- Resistant to chlorinated water (discoloration or bleaching of the pigments is possible).
- Heat-resistant to approx. 80°C (dry heat) and for hot water to 50°C.
- Not resistant to fats and oils.

Surface pre-treatment
Assumes the surface is clean, dry, free of grease, (If in doubt about the paint adhesion, a test patch
should always be done). Metal: Rust and mill scale must be removed by sandblasting (cleaning
level: SA 2.5). Where blasting is impossible, remove rust manually using rotating scrubbing brushes,
sanding discs and rust remover brushes to a cleaning level of ST. 3. Then degrease thoroughly.
Concrete:
Loose and faulty parts of the concrete surface must be fully removed in such a way that a good and solid
surface is created. Remove grease, dirt and other impurities by cleaning with a cleaner rotating
ScotchBrite pad and high pressure steam cleaner. Make sure the surface dries well. The moisture content
of the surface must not exceed 4%. Before starting treatment, it is recommended that the humidity of the
surface and RH should be measured.
