Import module Training

REV 06 dated 07/12/2022

The template is used to import a complete aircraft status:
-Creation of MPD tasks
-WO status creation with last done , next due
-Creation of AD/SB with status last done, next due
-Creation of Kardex status for monitoring parts with life limit, inspection, and
overhaul
To facilitate data management, I recommend that you prepare one file per MR
type.

The first step is to configure the file, for this purpose you need to create the
aircraft in AMS in the activity module (click on the link below to see how to
create an A/C),
activate the aircraft type (click on the link below to see how to activate the
aircraft type), and create the maintenance protocol(click on the link below to
find out how create the maintenance protocol).

Once you've created your aircraft in AMS, retrieve the aircraft ID found here
(see picture below)

and enter it in cell D4

If you want to create a new MR put Y in the cell D5 and N in the cell D6. ( cell
D6 concerns the revision of an MPD, which will be discussed at the end of this
tutorial)

Stock ID will be useful when you want to import components, you need to
specify the stock to be able to install the parts on aircraft in AMS.
Then fill in cells M1 and M2
-Cell M1 must contain the MR type ID for section 3 ( component)
-Cell M2 must contain the MR type ID for section 6 ( MPD, AD,SB )

IDs are available in:

GENERAL MODULE → MAINTENANCE → MAINTENANCE SETTINGS
For exemple :
-To import MPD TASK, you must put 32 in the cell M2
-To import EASA AD, you must put 43 in the cell M2
-To import COMPONENT, you must put 2 in the cell M1

If you have specific intervals in your MPD, see example below:

You can fill them in the K4, K5, K6 column and the equivalent of each interval
in the L4, L5, L6 column, and just enter the specific interval in the threshold or
interval column.
K L
Once we've finished configuring the file, we'll populate the cells with the aircraft
data.
When importing an aircraft status, we'll leave the columns A, B and C empty.

In column D, we will enter the name of the MR type exactly as it is entered in

AMS in the maintenance settings sub-module.
- Column E: copy the reference from your MPD/ or AD or SB List and
paste it in column E.
(The number of characters must not exceed 35 characters)

- Column F: copy the title from your MPD/ or AD or SB List and paste it in
column F. (the number of characters must not exceed 100 characters)

- Column G: copy the description from your MPD/ or AD or SB List and

paste it in column G. (the number of characters must not exceed 1024
characters)

- Column H: copy the instruction maintenance/ operation (we can only

import one operation using the template) from your MPD/ or AD or SB
List and paste it in column H.
(The number of characters must not exceed 1024 characters)
- Column I: copy the task part from your MPD/ or AD or SB List and paste
it in column I. (The number of characters must not exceed 6 characters)

- Column J: copy the REVISION from your MPD/ or AD or SB List and

paste it in column J.
. (The number of characters must not exceed 5 characters)

- Column K: copy the TASK CODE from your MPD/ or AD or SB List and
paste it in column K. (The number of characters must not exceed 4
characters)
- Column L: You can fill the threshold, you must respect the form as
specified below:

Threshold: T: X FH OR X LD OR X YE/MO/WY/DY , for example :

T: 500 FH OR 6 MO
T: A

- Column M: You can fill the interval; you must respect the form as
specified below:
I: X FH OR X LD OR X YE/MO/WY/DY, for example:
I: 50 FH OR 30 DY
I: C

You can put threshold and interval in the same cell separated by OR
FOR EXAMPLE: T: 500 FH OR 6 MO OR I: 50 FH OR 30 DY

- In column N and P you can fill the doc reference: AMM, MRB, IPC
references.
- In column O optional effectivity note - May contain as many entries
- In column Q : zones : may contain several zones separated with line break
- In column R: [Mh] man hours: may contain seral entries separated with
line break.
- In column S: must contain as many entries as [Mh] separated with line
break.
- In column T: May contain several access codes separated by Line Break
- In column U: May contain as many lines as Access codes separated by
Line Break
- In column X and Y : issued by ‘AIRBUS’/BOEING/ FAA / EASA, issued
on , you have to fill the date of issue of the revision of the MPD OR the
date of issue of an AD OR a SB.
- In column Z : TOLERANCE
- In column AA : threshold date
- In column AB : Use this field to define the process to be applied to a
component:

O/C : On condition
C/M : Condition monitoring
H/T : HARD TIME

- In column AC: AD/SB Effective Date

- In column AH:
You will use it to define the technician's specialization required to perform the
maintenance task
this information must correspond to the specialties defined in your AMS
database:
GENERAL→MAINTENANCE→AME SPECIALITIES
- In column AL: you can define the ordo, equivalent of PHASE field that
you find in the MR in AMS, you have to fill the ID , for example for
preparation (ENG) you have to put 1, for provisioning you have to put 2
…. you can customize this information in AMS, ask our support team.

- In column AP: Letter check , if left blank, Interval is used when a special
interval literal is defined
(This information will help you to prepare the check bloc on AMS)
- Column AR: May contain several P/N separated by Line Break(this
information is essential for importing maintenance tasks for components )

- Column AS: you must fill it when you import component task maintenance:
NONE/INS/OHL/INS
-Column AT: set to Y when the maintenance task is to be performed only once
- Column AU: ATA must be 4 digits.
- Column AT: you can use it for any additional fields that are not in the
template, for example :
To add a threshold text you can put in the cell :
PROTTASKTHRTXT=’xxxxxxxxxxxxxx’; (text must not
exceed 30 characters)
-Column BP: you must fill the STATUS of the maintenance task as specified
below:

OPEN / NA / REFER TO [reference] / REJECTED / TERMINATED /

CANCELLED

-Column BP: to fill the not applicable (NA) REASON.

- Column BR, BV & BS : to fill the last performed AIRCRAFT FH, FC and
date.
- Column: BT & BU : to fill the last performed component FH and FC.
- From Column BX to column CP, all these fields are dedicated to the import of
MR COMPONENTS where you must fill in the certificate, installation date,
time since new, time since OHL...
-Columns CQ, CR& CS: to fill the next dur AIRCRAFT FH, FC and date.
Data import into AMS consists of two phases:
- The first step: DATA VERIFICATION,
After filling in the Excel file, AMS will perform a complete verification of the
data, giving you the status of each line and any errors to be corrected.
To do this, go to module general, utilities, import/export and click on 1/
REVIEW A FILE and then you import your excel file.

The verification status of each line will be shown in the column CX.
-If the result is ok for all lines, you don't need to make any corrections and can
proceed directly to step 2.
-If the result is an error, you will see a message in the column CY explaining the
root cause, and this information will be helpful in making any necessary
changes.
How to make an amendment with the import module?
The first thing to do is to populate your excel file (as we saw at the first part of
this tutorial) with the new revision, put Y in cell D6, then go to AMS:
GENERAL/MAINTENANCE/PROTCOLE:
ADD THE EDITION AND THE AMENDEMENT IN PENDING
AMENDEMENT FIELDS.

You start with the verification step and then import the final file.
The revised maintenance tasks will remain on hold until you approve the new
MPD revision by clicking on: MAKE THIS AMENDEMENT EFFECTIVE
