I am very pleased to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Angela Santiago. She
has been working with me for 3 months (and roughly 25 hours) as part of the Career and
Mentorship Program in Hilliard City Schools. Fanning Howey is a full service Architecture and
Engineering firm that specializes in Learning Environments and she selected our firm
because of an interest in Architecture and Design.

As part of the Mentorship Program, Angela had an opportunity to shadow staff in the office,
participate in meetings, develop an understanding of the building code and other work
involved in design and construction of K-12 facilities. She has also had the opportunity to set
goals and has elected to work in the Revit platform to create an office plan and design of her
own. Not only did Angela develop a concept for a building, but she has quickly learned some
of the production and graphic tools to express her ideas. Revit is a Building Information
Model (BIM) computer program that allows someone to design a 3-D model. With little
direction, Angela has taught herself how to use the program in a very short time. I am
impressed with her abilities to problem solve and be creative.

Angela is professional and always has a positive attitude about the task or discussion at
hand. She balances family, school, extra-curricular activities and the added mentorship
responsibilities well. To me, she has exceeded the requirements for the Ohio Department of
Education Job Skills Seal called Ohio Means Jobs.
