Sonia: Hi guys! Remember that we have to prepare the presentation for the American TV program next
week. We have to talk about our favorite sports.

Pedro: You are right! I almost forgot it! Let’s start discussing about our sports preferences.

Helen: I love sports so I have many things to say about it.

Sonia: You know that soccer and volleyball are the most popular sports in Peru. Most peruvians are crazy
about them. I really like team sports. I love going to the stadium and feel the emotion of the game
but soccer is definitely my favorite sport. In your opinion Pedro, which are the most popular sports
in our country?

Pedro: Well, a lot of Peruvian people love playing sports. The most popular sport in Peru is, in fact soccer.
Like many countries in the world. This sport is almost considered a religion, and everyone in Peru
loves playing and watching the game. But, my favorite sport is surfing, I like individual and water
sports. Surfing is becoming more popular, you can see a lot of people practice it on La Costa Verde,
especially on weekends and on summer vacation. What about you Helen? Tell us about your favorite
sport?
Our favorite sports

Helen: I love team sports. I’m a sporty person. I practice them a lot, but my favorite
is baseball. In that game the teamwork and the concretation are crucial to see
the results. In Peru I can see many young people starting playing it. I thing it’s
intense and amazing.

Sonia: Great! We have talked about our favorite sports, but we need to decide which
sport we are going to talk for the program.

Pedro: Let’s talk about soccer. We have a lot of good soccer players in the national
team.

Helen : I agree. Let’s talk about it. I want to talk our experience in the last World
Soccer Cup.

Sonia: Fine!
