Indra Karya to drill for water that will be used for operational activities in the PT VALE INDONESIA — Site Bahodopi area located in Central Sulawesi. Clean water sources can come from springs, reservoirs, and groundwater. Under certain conditions. groundwater is an alternative that can be used as a source of clean water. ‘Most groundwater comes from surface water that percolates into the ground and is part of the Hydrologic Cycle. The groundwater content in an area can be influenced by the condition of the subsurface geological layers in the area, especially those related to rock porosity Therefore, prior to water drilling, a step is needed to estimate the lithclogy of the subsurface rocks so that the presence of aquifers in the subsurface can be properly traced. The gevelectric method can be used to obtain an overview of the distribution various types of soil and rock layers vertically and horizontally below the ground surface based on the value of their specific resistance contrast. This value is obtained from the results of quantitative georlectric data analysis supported by geology and hydrogcolozy data from the investigation acea. Field observations and data collection were carried out using the 2D geoelectric method, while hydrogeology data was collecied by mapping wells and springs around the investigation area. This investigation was carried out with the intention of obtaining data on the presence of aquifers and lithology ia the subsurface of the observation location, which can also be used as a subsurface geotechnical reference so that the local engineering geological conditions can be known in more detail and will be used as a reference for determining the location of groundwater driliing points. 1.2 Purpose dan Objectives The purpose of this survey is to provide an overview of data related to groundwater conditions around the PT VALE INDONESIA — Site Bahodopi concession area, with detais: Alpage EWCINEENING, BEVEL Mapa TAY Seren sraoncen ano wsren “=mrersercun = ix PT MMORA ARYA (PERSERO) Symp se, faa eana) Sow - Evaluation of potential groundwater aquifer areas, including thickness, depth, and geometry of aquifers in 3 locations (Workshop Area, Port Area, and Dormitory Area) ~ Provide recommendations for 4 drill points with the allocation of 1 (ene) well in the port area, i (one) well in the dormitory area, and 2 (two) wells in the workshop area, 1.3 Time of lmplemeatation All work, including survey and data analysis until the investigation report was conducted from June to August 2023 (Time scheduled attached below). 1.4 Activity Locations This ERT survey for groundwater interpretation was conducted in the PT VALE INDONESIA ~ Site Bahodopi area tocated in East Bungku sub-district, Morowali Regency. The data colfected is the apparent resistivity value and topography of eack measurement line. Measurement and data acquisition for two dimensions are done with Geosmudio software, which is a measurement software from the Gecmative GD-20 Resistivitymeter system. The data generated from field meaourements is the apparent resistivity value for all datum points on the sneasurement line. This apparent resistivity is the resistivity value with K correction factor according to the electrode configuration applied. 1.53 Data Processing aud Analysis ‘The data processing and analysis is the stage of processing field data using Res2Dinv software, which is continued with the analysis of the results of data processing to obtain interpretations related to subsurface mass movement. To obtain the actual resistivity value that describes the variation of subsurface distribution, further calculations ace carried out by inversion, 1.54 Reporting The final results of the study are seported and submitted to the job provider. In this survey, topographic mapping is used to determine the ERT meesurement path so that the ERT cable can laid perfectly straight and also to obtain elevation data at the measurement line. 232 a. Topographic Mapping Methodology Theory of Unbound Open Polygon Measurement ‘Unbound open polygon measurement is the measurement of the first polygon’angle point (P1) act equal to the last angle point (P5) so that itis open and not tied to a fixed point or one of the azimuthal lines, either at the initial or final mecsusement. The parameters measnted were the lengths of the sides and the angles Figure 2. 3 Unbound open polygon Description P1> Ps= polygon points Bi DBs comer points of the polygon ‘This unbound open polygon is used for distance measurements that are limited in length, for example drainage planning measurements and road planning measurement. In general, polygon measurements always have errors in distance, angle. and height. All of these error are not corrected. The difference between the open polygon with the close polygon is in the calculation of the height difference between points that cannot be controlled/corrected 7IP ENGINEERING, AEVEL asTay ix PT INDRA KARYA (PERSERO) Sum: = Err = . Situation Measurement and Field Details Situation measurement is carried out after the completion of the horizontal framework work which is usually done by polygon measurement. The polygon points will be the tie points of the situational measurement. Usually the measurements follow the path of mountain ridges, valleys, sivers, highways, railways. lake slopes. seashores, crater slopes and others, The measurement form of this situation measurement is a bound open polygon, because the first and end of the measurement must be tied to polygoa points whose coordinates and heights are already known. This measurement is conducted to determine the azimuth, distance, and height difference between measuring points. Situation measurement can be taken by = 1. The OffSet Method The Polar Method 3. This value is obtained fiom the results of a quantitative analysis of geoelectrical datz, which is supported by geological and hydrogeological data from the investigation area 2.4.2 ERT Survey Methodology ‘The technique for measuring the resistivity of the earth's layers is carried out by passing aDC current into the earth and measuring the voltage (voltage difference) generated inside the earth. Electric Current and Voltage ase arranged in a linear line arrangement. This survey used linear line arrangements dipole-dipole and Wenzer configuration. This method is a dynamic geophysical method that utilizes the electrical properties of rocks. In this method, the current is injected into the earth through a pair of current electrodes and records the potential difference that occurs through a pair of potential electrodes. The magnitude of the current (1) and the potential difference that occurs at the time of injection is recorded and then the tho (resistivity) value is calculated. The sho value is influenced by the physical properties of the rock beneath the earth's surface, by calibrating the drill data with the resistivity section, the results of geoelectrical measurements of the sho value in this resistivity section can be used to interpret the condition of the rock layers beneath the earth's surface, including their shape and depth. This ERT measurement was taken using 48 multichannel electrodes with spacing between electrodes adjusted to the length of the line, then the data was processed using Res2D software. 2.4.4 ERT Measurement Location The ERT measurements were carried out at the port area for 3 lines, the dormitory area for 5 lines. and the workshop area for 5 lines, with a total of $000 m length. to [Page AEVELOVER vd IMDEBTAY SAPER STRONGER AND FASTER Soom i< Par RA KARYA (PERSERO) Sumner. 2.44 The Equipment Used © GD.20 Multichannel Resistivity Geoelectric Tool # Electrode (stainless steel) 48 pes: ® Power supply I pes: © 2 Roil Cable: © Hammer 2 pes, © GPS handheld 1 pes © Handy Talkie 4 pes 2.4.5 Target Measurement © Acquire 2D ERT cross-section © Can describe subsurface conditions © Able to create 3D models of subsurface resistivity Figure 2. 6 ERT Measurement Activities i [page EWEINEENING, SEVER tapasTay SAPER STRONGER ARO FASTER i PT INDRA KARYA (PERSERO) aia, pa SUM xxx. =-= = 2.5 Groundwater Modeling 2.5.1 Definition of Grouudwater Modeling Groundwater is the study of the movement and distribution of groundwater on earth (Todd, 1980). This response occurs due to physical parameters (such as density, resistivity, magnetic properties, etc). The model is a representation of the geological state by measuring the physical parameters so that the problems can be simplified and the responses can be interpreted correctly according to the actual situation Geoelectric measurements at these 3 locations were conducted to recognize the aquifer potential in the investigation area. Geophysics estimation using the ERT method is to obtain an overview of the vertical and horizontal distribution of various types of soil and sock layers beneath the susface based on contrasting values of resistivity. This value is obiained from the resulis of quantitative analysis of geoelectrical data which is supported by geotogical and hydrogeological data of the investigation area. By correlating the data, it is possible to infer the direction and distribution of groundwater flow in the investigation area 38 |P ix PT INORA MARIA (PERSERO) Symp sox, ENGINEERING, SEVE: WapesTay SAFERSTRONGER AND FASTER, SUSTAIN om REG) eyesore eer cnen ne nn ee cememnene OO ‘The measurement method used is the wemer and dipole — cipole configuration with a total of 48 electrodes, and the spacing berween electrodes adjusts depending on the length of the line This ERT measurement has been conducted on 13 lines with a total length of 8000 m, which are divided into the following 3 locations: a. Based on the results of overlaying with the Geological Map of Bungle (1993), the ERT line at the dormitory area and the workshop area was implemented on the Ultamatic Complex that consists of harzburgite, lherzolite, webrlite, websterlite, serpentinite, dunit, and gabiro, while the ERT line at the port was implemented on an alluvium deposit that consists of gravel, coal, clay sand. and plant debris, Based on the results of the overlay with the eroundwaier map of Southeast Sulawesi, the investigation area is not located in 2 groundwater basin. Based on the regional geology (Simanjuntak, TO, et al, 1993), the lithclogy of the aquifers in the workshop and dormitory areas consists of igneous and metamosphic rocks with low-very low permeability, and in the port area, loose deposits’clastic deposits with low —medium permeability This Bahodopi site has various aquiier productivity fevels. The port area has an inter-grain aquifer system with moderate productivity and a discharge of around SLisec. The dormitory area has a fractured aquifer system with some small productivity and some not toc small discharge. The workshop area has a fractured aquifer sysiem with rare productivity and rare discharge. Based on the ERT geoelectric results in the Port area. surface water is found in the depth range of 25 to 80 meters with a resistivity value of 2 ohm.m to 60 obm.m. The lithol in this resistivity range is composed of sandstone, conglomerate, and claystone. While the density of deep aquifers is in the depth range of 90-175 meters. Then, in the subsequent layers, there is an ulvamatic complex with a resistivity value range of 70 ohma.m to 300 ohm.m. The potential presence of water is found in the sandstone aquifer layer. Based on the ERT Geoelectric Results in the Domnttory area. the presence of surface water is in the depth range of 40 to 90 meters with a resistivity value of 2 60 |P EWCINEENING, SEVEL ast SAPER STRONGER AND FASTER SRR) Sry saree nem are an oe eer i PT MMORA KARVA (PERSERO) yp e,, obm.m to 80 ohm.m. The lithology in this resistivity range is a solid rock composed of Quartz Sandstore, Conglomerate, and Shale. Then in the subsequeat lavers, there is ultramafic bedrock and metamorphic rock with a resistivity value range of 80 ohm.m to 500 ohm.m. Deep drifling can be carried out in cock zones that have many fractures to be able to pass water in ultramafic bedrock and metamorphic rock. G. Based on the ERT Geoelectric Results of the Workshop area, surface water is found in the depth range of 0 to §0 meters with 2 resistivity value of 2 ohm. to 80 obm.m. The litholo: Quartz Sandstone, Conglomerate, and Shale. Then ia the subsequent layers, there y im this resistivity range is a solid cock composed of is ultramafic bedrock and metamorphic tock with a resistivity value range of 70 ohm.m to 500 ohm.m. Deep drilling can be camried out in rock zones that have many factures (o be able to pass water in ultramafic bedrock and metamorphic rock. 4.2 Recommendations Following the analysis of the ERT geoelectric cross section, a mumber of recommendations for water drilling were made.
