PLC Agenda MVHS

Date: 11/16/23 Department/Team: Math (Geometry)

Team Members: Heather Anderton, Sydney Fixmer, Katie McCollum, Jessi Chollet,

Team Norms: All voices are valued

Facilitator: Heather Anderton Note Taker: Heather Anderton

1. What do we want all students to know and be able to do?

● Chapter 1 - Segment/Angle Addition Postulate
● Chapter 1 - Midpoint Formula (especially finding an unknown endpoint,
emphasizing understanding vs procedure)
● Chapter 2 - Short fill-in blank algebraic proof
● Chapter 3 - Angle relationships, identifying and using to find unknown
angles and variables
● Chapter 3 - Slopes of parallel and perpendicular (finding, calculating,
conceptual understanding of it)
● Chapter 3 - Writing equations of parallel and perpendicular lines with a
given point and line in slope-intercept form
● Chapter 3 - Find the distance from a point to a given line
● Chapter 3 - Proving two lines are parallel given information about a pair
of angles
● Chapter 5 - Classifying triangles by sides and angles
● Chapter 5 - Triangle Sum Theorem and Exterior Angle Theorem
● Chapter 5 - Congruence Statements
● Chapter 5 - Third Angles Theorem Application
● Chapter 5 - Application of the Base Angles Theorem and conceptual
understanding of isosceles and equilaterals

2. How will we know if they have learned it? (link rubric, assessment,
prompt, etc)
● Currently building the assessment

Data (Break down by each individual teacher - add link):

Number of Students Advanced (exceeds expectations):
Number of Students Proficient (meets expectations):
Number of Students Partially Proficient (partially meets expectations):
Number of students Basic ( does not meet expectations):

3. How will we respond when some students do not learn it?

4. How will we extend the learning for students who have demonstrated
proficiency?
MVHS PRIDE: be Present - show Respect - get Involved - honor Diversity - give Effort

Assignments for next week:

What project are you working on?

How well did we follow our team norms?

Mission Statement: Learning - Anytime, Anywhere.

Date: 10/31/23 Department/Team: Math (Algebra 1)

5. What do we want all students to know and be able to do?

● Chapter 3 - Graphing Linear Functions
● Concerned about being able to finish Ch. 4 before the end of the
semester (may only get through the first half)
● Thinking of skipping functions and notation but there is concern about
not being able to consistently use problems directly from Big Ideas
● Skipping transformations - it’s addressed in Algebra 2 right away
● Final Plan: Define function, rate of change, 3.2 (different forms), function
notation
