You might think that no one will want to hear what you have to say. Well, heres an example of a young person who has made alot of people pay attention, Greta Thunberg’s a teenager from Sweden, She was eight years old when she first heard about global ‘warming at school. She was very worried about what she heard, but what shocked her most was that adults didn't seem to think it was serious. They weren't doing anything about it, From then on, she couldn't stop thinking about the danger of climate change. She persuaded her parents to change their lifestyle: the family became vegan and started growing their own vegetables. They travelled by train instead of plane and changed to solar energy in their home, ‘The summer of 2018 was particularly hot in Europe ‘with more extreme weather than usual. Greta ‘knew it was time for action. When workers have strikes, they refuse to work because they want better pay. When Greta had a Climate Strike, she refused to go to school because she wanted a better world, She wanted everyone to understand two things: climate change was real and itwas serious. One Friday, instead of going to school, she cycled to the Swedish Parliament. She sat alone all the first day, but the next day, people started joining her protest after reading her posters about global warming. ‘This small protest led tothe first of many global Climate Strikes in December 2018, by more than 20,000 students in over 270 cities round the world Greta, now known internationally, began travelling around Europe to speak at important meetings. Her message is always very clea: unless you do something now, you will destroy our future. She told world leaders ata conference in Switzerland: I don't want you to feel hopeful [want you to panic [...] And then [want you to act’ Ata United Nations climate change meeting in Poland, she said: “The year 2078, I will celebrate my 75th birthday. IFT have children, maybe they will spend that day with me. Maybe they will ask me about you. Maybe they will ask why you didn't do anything while there still was time to act?
