INTRODUCTION

• Colic is classified as abdominal pain or pain within the digestive tract


due to a gastrointestinal disturbance.
• Colic is not a disease but a group of symptoms.
• Equine colic is the group of diseases which cause abdominal pain
through distention of the stomach or intestines.
• Colic is the symptoms complex exhibited by the horse when there is
painful condition of any abdominal organs.

CASE HISTORY

• Animal shows abdominal pain since 1 day


• Unable to pass feaces
• Animal lying down
• Poor eating behaviour
CLINICAL OBSERVATION

• Animal is dull and depressed


• Anuria since morning
• Sweating
• Rectal temperature:- 101.7° F
• Inappetance
• No history of change in feeding

1. Inj. NS - 4 Lit ( I/V)
2. Inj. DNS – 4 Lit (I/V)
3. Inj.RL – 4 Lit (I/V)
4. Inj.Tribivet – 15 ml (I/V)
5. Inj. Flunixin- 20 ml ( I/V )
6. Inj. RIDIMA -10ml (I/V)
