Robots: Friends or Foes

Are robots stealing our jobs for better or worse? When it comes to robots, they could be

one of the biggest lifesavers when it comes to humans because we could have them perform

hazardous tasks which in turn save our lives, meanwhile, with the assistance of robots, the

number of jobs would decrease.

When people first think of robots doing human jobs most minds go to the negative

viewpoint but if people would just step back and look at the big picture. They would see that

with robots we could achieve greater heights, an example would be if humans wanted to see if

another planet could sustain life, which would take multiple years to travel there. We can send

robots to scope the area out and then send humans. Also, when it comes to jobs most people

would prefer not to do a robot, for example, if we replaced all janitors with robots, we would

have an increase in workers meanwhile ex-janitors could find better work elsewhere. Here are

just a few reasons why robots would be a major help to our society.

Nevertheless, there are several downsides to robot automation. It starts with people losing

their jobs. But where does it end? They may say that robots will replace humans in simple jobs

and extremely precise jobs but who decides the start and finish line of this game we are trying to

play? While the average person is seeking a job after they just got replaced people in the

government are receiving more money than ever due to not having to pay a robot a salary, but do

not forget even if someone wants to acquire a job fixing robots they would have to go to college

which means the government will still receive the money one way or another.

In contrast, the job situation is not even real, probably because the robots are going to

have human support from maintenance, supervision, and security. Maintenance is a flaw robots

can never escape because no matter how well-made robots are made, they will always have

problems. Now when it comes to supervision, we must make sure that they are not just running

into a wall or just not even moving. Then, security is going to be one of the biggest problems

because humans are going to try and steal robots. Finally, robots will be taking our jobs, but they

will be creating more jobs and new experiences for people.

When it comes down to it, robots taking our place in the workforce would be one of the

best accomplishments humans have ever made. The fact is that robots would indirectly save our

lives by doing challenging or even dangerous jobs that would take a human's life. Finally, when

thinking about robots and them going into the workforce people always think of the negatives

but the positives outweigh them by ten-fold.
