As an active university student, you may have an excellent idea to represent the favorite material of
your English. You have done several presentations and practicing it. Those are about yourself, cooking
a delicious food or beverage, your holiday’s story and the last to be done is about business talk. How
effectively it is presented, this might be your chances of achieving your goal and help to show your ideas.

Here is your presentation: choose one of your presentations. You don’t have to re write it.
1. What is the Title? You may use the real title according to what has been made. Or you
may give new title…

2. Because the current condition is a pandemic and we fill our vacation time at that time.
3. Even though the situation is not fine, there is nothing wrong with meeting our distant friends but
still following the existing protocol and hopefully it will still be fine.

B. Review verbs and forms


B.1. The following passage describes different kinds of special events. Put the verb between
all the parentheses below into the correct forms. Use present, past, or future tense.

You have already known that American usually have a “baby shower” before the first born of baby
arrives. A ceremony held before a child birth is also common in some parts of Indonesia. In java, when

Who doesn’t enjoy holiday? A holiday often eases us from the routines we face every day. On some holidays,

C. VOCABULARY: English Business


A means of payment

Besides using paper money and coin, there are other forms of payment which are often safer and
more efficient. There are, for example, money ordered, bank draft, personal checks, traveler’s checks,
and credit cards. What for sure is that the number of credit card customer increasing.
What are credit cards? A plastic chips, a common shape of credit card, serves as legal payment in
place of paper money and coins. It issued by a bank to an individual for a set period of time. Same as
other forms of payment without using money or coin, there are some condition to become eligible for
using them. We must usually have a bank account, and for credit card, we will meet the required
minimum annual income. Based on our income, the issuer sets a credit limit which we could not exceed.
The credit card has many advantages. We can use it to shopping at supermarket, shopping center,
food outlet, music shop, for buying airline ticket, settle bills hotels, bookstore, registration fee for
conference anywhere in the country or abroad, even from internet at home. The most practical is, we
don’t need to carry cash…but actually, when we use a credit card, we buy on credit or ‘the buy-now-pay-
latter’s concept…just look to the familiar stickers of Visa, Master, and others cards, that’s another thing
you should check at an available place/shop your credit is accepted.

So even though it's a plastic card, but you can shop easily and quickly, the payment is not only 1
but can be others such as going to the supermarket, buying plane tickets online and others.

This credit card is issued by a bank with a period of time so that this card becomes an official
payment

This credit card has a time limit and has conditions so that it is not used carelessly and has a limit.

One of them is when we borrow with a credit card, we must pay it on time, it must not be more
than the specified maturity because it will be subject to fines and can also be blocked

5. When we use credit card, we do ‘the buy – now – pay - later -concept’…!
So the point is that because we have not been able to pay that day, we will pay later when we
have the money and the payment is still limited.
