Chapter 4 – Daily Routine

The following procedures should be performed in the following order every day.

Starting Up in the Morning

1. Perform a Full Shutdown of the Infinia application (if not done at end of
previous day). This closes the Infinia application and logs off the current
user.

Note It is important that the acquisition console is shutdown via the Full shutdown
option from the Infinia application. Do not close the Infinia application via the
Windows 2000 options (Start > Shut Down...) or by using the Power OFF button
of the computer.

2. Log on to the acquisition station (automatically loads the Infinia

application).

3. Perform Gantry Reset (GRESET) as described in Performing Gantry Reset

(GRESET) on page 3-7.

4. Using the RCU, verify that the detectors can be moved “IN” and “OUT”.

5. For sites that work mostly with detectors in L-mode, it is highly

recommended to move the detectors from L-mode to H-mode once a day
in order to avoid lateral axis drift. (ELGem21272)

6. Perform the required daily QC procedures. These may include NM Daily

QC, HE NM Daily QC, X-ray Daily QC and CoDe Daily QC, as defined in
Table 10-1 – Recommended Quality Control Procedures Schedule on page
10-3.

7. Press [Close Session] to close the QC Utilities.

8. Check Disk Space as described on page 8-1 and clean up the To Do list.
If a study is no longer needed in the To Do list, press
[Study Acq. Completed].

transferred to Xeleris. Clean up the Data Management screen. Delete or
archive all studies that have been transferred and are no longer necessary
on Infinia. It is recommended to delete all studies that are more than one
week old from the local Data Base.

10. Begin clinical operations.
