X-Plane can read text flight data recorder files from real

airplanes!!!
This lets you re-create real airplane flights in the sim to
review afterwards.
This is useful for accident investigation and other stuff like
that.

Now that you can do this pretty easily since these FDR
(Flight Data Recorder) files are simply a documented text
format.

These latest formats of FDR are really flexible because they

can have as little or as much detail as you want in them…
you can simply load up any X-Plane dataref you like with
data!

I've made you 2 example files, see them in this folder:

FDR Example Version 3.fdr

FDR Example Version 4.fdr

The explanation of the data is right in the files themselves,

and you can just about copy and paste from the files saved
by Garmins and Avidynes! It's easy!

To actually see these FDR files in action, dump them into

the "output / FDR files folder" and then launch X-Plane and go the
FILE menu, LOAD FLIGHT option and load them up!
