This Specification covers general requirements for the installation and inspection of vessels and heat exchangers (hereinafter collectively referred to as equipment), which may be included in the plant constructed by Toyo Engineering india Limited, (hereinafter referred to as TEAL). 1.4.2. This specification covers the general requirements for ather similar type of static equipment, such as silencers, filters etc. 1.1.3. Vessels, heat exchangers or tanks to be fabricated at site are not covered by this specification. 1.2 Specific Job Requirements Specific Job requirements which may be attached to this specification cover modifications to this specification, customer's special andi { of focal requirements as Well as specific jab data pertaining to this specification. Where Specific job Requirements are in contradiction to this specification, Specific Job Requirements shall govern, 1.3. Related Engineering Specifications The related Engineering Specification to supplement this specification is as follows: -301 “General Requirement in Equipment installation” 2, INSTALLATION WORKS Equipment shail be installed in correct position and oriéntation. Due care shall be paid to the following points during the wark. For horizontal equipment which are subject to expansion! contraction, the relative position between foundation bolts and bolt holes shall be set to allow free movement of the equipment in the correct direction of expansion / contraction. Where sliding plates are used, no liners shall be applied between base plate and sliding plate. Contact surfaces shall be cleaned and metal to metal coated with grease or graphite. After completion of installation of the equipment and connection with piping, the nuts of the anchor bolts at sliding side shall be loosened to give 1 to 2 mm of clearance, and then tightened with lock nuts leaving this clearance. Welding of liners shall be cartied out after completion of final alignment Inspection. In general, no weiding shall be permitted between base plate ‘and liners. Alignment of Skid-mounted Equipment Alignment of skid-mounted equipment shall be performed for horizontality, position and elevation of skid-base. Alignment check for each component is not required Alignment of Stacking-type Equipment Alignment of stacking-type equipment shall be performed based on relative position and elevation of connecting nozzles, adjusting by placing shim plates between base plates of lower equipment and upper equipment. Platforms and ladders may be mounted any time before or after the installation of the equipment. However, when mounted before installation, it shalh be confirmed that those will not affect the erection work of equipment, 5.2.2 When platforms and ladders are fixed to vertical towers and vessels subject to ‘expansion / contraction, slot holes of platforms, ladders oF lugs and loosening of muts shall be confirmed. 5.2.3 Gorrect setting of step bolts and washers shall be checked. 5.24 When deformation of checker plates of platform floor is found, repair shall be carried out by heating or reinforcing. 5.2.5 Welding slag of platform and ladders shall be completely removed by chipping chisel & hammer. 5.2.6 When handrails are assembied by welding at site, the weld bead shai! be finished flush by gfinding, 5.2.7 Smooth movement and correct position of safety gate (bar) shall be checked. §.2.8. (2) Procedure for alignment of the pump and driver in this specification does not cover belt or chain driven pumps. Manufacturer's Installation manual This specification stipulates standard pracedure for installation of pumps. Installation installation and alignment of pump shall generally be carried out in the order as follows: (1) Prepare the surface of foundation for installation. (2) Set temporary liners in accordance with Engineering Specification D- 301 (3) Place pump with base on the liners and set anchor bolts. (4) Align provisionally the pump base. (5) Fixthe anchor bolts by pouring mortar into anchor pockets. (6) Set permanent liners as near as to and both sides of each anchor bolt, after the mortar has cured. (7) Remove temporary liners. (8) Tighten anchor botts. (9) Align the pump and driver and tighten hold-down bolts. (10) Grout the base plate. (11) Connect piping systems. (12) Check the final alignment of the pump and driver; couple the shafts between pump and ériver. Installation of the pump base and pump shall be carried out within the tolerances specified in Sect. 5 of this specification. Leveling of pump base shall be carried out both axial and radial directions. For vertical pump of cold services, insulation of casing pipe shall be provided before installation @ dma ad PUMPS AND Ocho TOYO ENGINEERING INDIA LTD, oe GA-301 ISSUED DATE: 16/1007 $RU - ONGC, URAN Page 4of 11 24 Alignment 2.4.1 The alignment of the pump shall be carried out on the basis of the finished metal surfaces being as near as possible to the Centre of the shaft. 2.4.2 Parallel deviation and angular deviation of the driving and driven shafts shall be individually measured. 2.4.3 Where dial gauge is fixed on arm with a magnetic base, the following precautions shail be taken for decreasing errors caused by change of measure points. (1) Fix firmly. (2) Shorten the arm length as much as possible. (3) Use small type dial gauge (lightweight). (@) — Pilt measuring point of the dial gauge at fight angle to the shaft, pointing tothe Centre of the shaft. 24.4 When the manufacturer specifies the offset figures, the alignment shail be performed incorporating the offset into the tolerance. 24.5 After completion of alignment, it shall be confirmed that the shaft can be rotated smoothly by hand. 2.4.6 After confirming the direction of rotation and freedom of rotation, the shafts shall be coupled. 3. in-process check Prior to, during and after completion of the installation works, the following synopsis of check, inspection and tests shall be performed. Tolerance 0.07 mm shall be applied when there is no requirement in manufacturer's specification. (3) Method of the alignment is as follows: (2) _ Fix two dial indicators on the shaft 2, so that one of their tips comes in contact with the circumference of shaft 1, another with the face of shaft 1. (2) Anchor bolts are perpendicular within the tolerance specified in D-301 (8) Mortared part of anchor bolts is free from grease and oil (4) Threaded part of anchor bolts is free from damage. (6) Threaded part of anchor bolts is coated with lube oil or grease. 3.4 Provisional Alignment of Equipment Elevation, position and level of the Equipment shall be within the tolerance specified in Table 5.1.1 3.5 Grouting of Anchor Box The following shai be checked and confirmed (1) Mixing ratio of mortar meets Specification D-301 (2) Anchor box is completely filed with mortar. (3) Mortar has’ become sufficiently hardened afler the specified curing time. (3) Mortar has become sufficiently hardened after the specified curing time. (@) Mortars free from ctacks and lamination after the curing time. On the fourth day after grouting, all jack bolts on the base plate or frame shall be loosened and the foundation bolts shall be tightened symmetrically, one after another. 3.8 Re-checking of Shaft Alignment Parallelism, angular deviation and distance between the couplings shall be checked. Non-parallelism of the couplings shall be as specified in Par. 9.1.2. In case the alignment is out of the tolerance, realignment shall be made as follows : (1) Forsteam turbine and compressor: . Adjust shims for casing support bearing pedestal. (2) For reciprocating compressor Adjust shims for driver frame. 3.9 Alignment after Installation of Main Piping It shall be confirmed that the measurements are within the tolerance specified in par. 5.1.2 4. (2) Using compressed air, remove completely foreign matters from the casing inside the Equipment, control valves and accessories. Clean carefully pipes and valves which have been stored outdoors. (3) To clean the inside of bearing housing, mechanical seal and cylinder, use vinyl sponge or special paper towel (4) Adjust the clearance between the shaft and internals such as bearings within the tolerance specified by the manufacturer. (5) For iifing the shaft, keeps it horizontal using a lifting jig or other suitable method. Never allow the shaft to hit and damage any internal parts. i (6) When assembling internal parts such as bearings, make sure their proper location and direction, referring to match marks. (7) When fluid packing is applied ta casing / housing contact surface for steam oF gas application, coat the inside surface from bolts densely and the outside from the bolts lightly. (8) When fluid packing applied to oil contact portions, coat them lightly Never close lubricant grooves with excess coating () Oil flushing after assembly requires sufficient preparation. These numbers shall appear (on the fit up/ weld visual reports and NDT records. 3.5 Preheat and Interpass temperature 3.5.1 Preheating shall be performed by propane flame or by another appropriate method prior to commencement of welding including tack welding. Any flame heating shall be applied as evenly all round as possible, avoiding hot spots. 3.5.2 Materials and preheating temperature shall be, unless otherwise specified, as Table 3.8.2.
