PART II Study the usage of the present continuous in the passive voice below.

When talking about VR and AR technologies, the narrator says...


“ Both of these technologies are being implemented in a variety of ways.

The sentence above is in the present continuous form (to describe an action happening right
now) but it is in the passive voice. See what the active voice for sentence idea looks like below.

PASSIVE VOICE Both of these technologies are being implemented in a variety of ways.
ACTIVE VOICE People are implementing both of these technologies in a variety of ways.

In the video example, “people” is not important and is already understood from context. When the
subject isn’t important or it’s already understood, we use the passive voice. See the structure below:
