A journey of self discovery: Norwegian Cruise Lines to add more solo traveler
options to their ships.

Beginning in January 2024, solo travelers are finally getting their dream cruise
experience. Norwegian Cruise Lines announced that they will be expanding their ships
to include nearly 1,000 new solo suites and cabins.
Norwegian Cruise Lines are changing their ships to include more solo traveler options.
The cruise line president David J. Herrera expanded on the amenities the cruise ship
has to offer in their press release on Tuesday.
“We strive to provide our guests with diverse offerings to create their dream vacation,”
Herrera. “Since we first launched our solo staterooms in 2010 with Norwegian Epic, they
have been quite popular with single travelers.
Norwegian Cruise Lines mentioned they made this decision because of the increase in
solo traveling in recent years. According to Josh Hawarth from Exploding Topics, data
suggested a 42% increase in solo traveling and stated that over 50% of travelers
booking with Travel Market Report are traveling alone.
