Part 2 MiniServer Usage Process

 Step 1: Pre-use preparation

 Step 2: Miniserver initialization
 Step 3: Set up client software
 Step 4: Interoperability test between client software and radio

 Step 1: Pre-use preparation

1. Confirm how the MiniServer is connected to the network (directly or indirectly)

2. Set the miniserver's IP information according to different access network methods:

A. Direct access to the public or internal network: The MiniServer is directly connected to the

public or internal network. The MiniServer Native IP is the same as the IP address of the terminal.

The setting method is to set the IP, subnet mask, and gateway of the MiniServer in the

configuration platform.

For example, the public IP is 10.18.199.184, the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, the gateway is

10.18.199.1, and the MiniServer Native IP is 10.18.199.184 Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0 Default

Gateway is 10.18.199.1, and then Click Setting to complete the setting.

B. Indirect access to the public network: The MiniServer is indirectly connected to the public

network through a router / switch. After the MiniServer Native IP is mapped, the IP that

communicates with the terminal is the router or firewall public network IP. The setting method is

to set the MiniServer's IP, subnet mask, gateway and public IP for external communication on

the configuration platform.

For example, the public network IP is 192.168.1.23, the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, the

6
gateway is 192.168.1.1, fill in 192.168.1.23 Subnet Mask in MiniServer Native IP, fill in

255.255.255.0 Default Gateway, fill in 192.168.1.1 Public Network Fill in IP 10.18.199.184 and click

Setting to complete the setting.

 Step 2: MiniServer Initialization

1. MiniServer's ETH1 port is the initial configuration port and default IP is 192.168.11.2.

2. Prepare a laptop as a debugging computer to connect with ETH1 port, and set the IP of the

laptop and ETH1 port to the same network segment (192.168.11. X, subnet mask is 255.255.255.0,

default gateway is empty). Note: The laptop IP cannot be set to 192.168.11.1 and 192.168.11.2.

Laptop IP Setting Guidelines:

3. Log in to the MiniServer configuration tool through the laptop's IE browser. The URL of the

configuration tool: 192.168.11.2, Default user name: admin, Default password: Admin168.

7
4. Set the ETH0 port IP:

Through the MiniServer configuration tool, set the ETH0 port IP. The * content is required, which

are IP, subnet mask, and default gateway. After the setting is completed, click Setting to set

successfully. (Direct access to the public network or the internal network, that is, directly using the

public network IP or the internal network IP, without filling in the Public Network IP. If the public

network IP is mapped to the internal network IP, you need to fill in the Public Network IP, that is,

you need to set the ETH0 port. Intranet IP, subnet mask, gateway and public IP for external

communication)

A. The method of setting the IP for direct access to the public or internal network shown as

following figure:

Note: The first three digits of the IP and the default gateway IP must be consistent with the local

network. The fourth digit can be customized, such as: 192.168.1.XXX. The method of querying the

IP address: Start menu-enter CMD-popup command window--enter the command ipconfig to

query, as shown below:

8
B. IP setting method for indirect access to the public network (public network IP mapped to

internal IP), as shown in below:

5、ETH0 port connection test:

After setting the IP of the ETH0 port according to the above steps, click the Internet test button

to check whether the network connection of the ETH0 port is normal. Note: When the network

where the MiniServer is located is not connected to the external network, the test connection

result is not connected, which means unconnected to the external network and does not

affect the use of the MiniServer internal network.

9
6、Open external firewall ports

Note: If the network connected to the MiniServer has an external firewall device, please

open the port of the external firewall according to the following port list. If do not have an

external firewall device, skip this step.

After entering the "Internet Testing" interface and clicking the "List of External Firewall Port"

button, the list of ports to be opened by the external firewall is prompted by a pop-up box. (please

MiniServer adopts fanless low power consumption design and can work in the environment of -5

~ 60 ℃ and ≤95% humidity. The system software is based on Linux and provides safe and stable

POC services. If the system crashes due to frequent sudden power failures, etc., you can perform

22
a one-key system recovery through the "system recovery U disk" that comes standard with the

host

 How to ensure data security during the use of MiniServer

The MiniServer has built-in SSD to store user data in real time. It is recommended that you

purchase a U disk as a data backup disk to connect to the MiniServer. The system automatically

backs up user data to the U disk every 24 hours. When the MiniServer is down due to an exception,

user data can be recovered through the U disk.

 Does MiniServer support WiFi connect to the network?

No, WiFi is less reliable. Only support wired connect

 Does MiniServer support user expansion

MiniServer models are divided into T100 and T200. Support the T100 to expand the user capacity

to 200 users by purchasing an authorized capacity license. T200 does not support capacity

expansion

 Does MiniServer support function expansion

MiniServer standard features: PTT, real-time positioning, SOS. M200 no function expansion

support . By purchasing a license for authorized functions, M500&M1000 supports Geo fence,

Multimedia communications, and video call.

 Does the operation of MiniServer complicated?

MiniServer is pre-installed with system software, which requires only initialization and functional

interoperability testing.

23
 The MiniServer cannot connect to the network after
initialization
The MiniServer network communication port is ETH0. The wrong IP setting will cause the

MiniServer to fail to connect to the network. Please check the network cable connection.

 After the MiniServer is initialized, a page error is displayed when accessing the
operation platform

Please check whether the firewall port of the network where the MiniServer is installed is opened

according to the initialization requirements.

 During interoperability test, the dispatch console, Android PTT app, and two-
way radio cannot log in

Please check the IP settings of the corresponding client software

 During the interoperability test, the Android PTT app and the two-way radio
show that they are not in the group after logging in.

When opening an account on the operation platform, the account not added in group

 During interoperability test, the client cannot send and receive SOS,

multimedia information

Please check whether the IP information of the Android PTT APP, intercom, and dispatch console

is set incorrectly.

24
 Dispatch console cannot view terminal location
Please check whether the terminal's IP information is set correctly and confirm whether the radio

is used outdoors. If it is used outdoors, check whether the positioning function of the smartphone

with the Android PTT app is turned on. At the same time, check whether the receiving GPS

reporting function is enabled on the dispatcher and whether the terminal reporting frequency is

set to be slow (default 30 seconds).
