This article is about tea.

Rather, it is about a mini-national crisis and the lack of a decent

cup of tea at most Indian public places.

The writer states in his article that the tea we make at home is better than that we drink
outdoor by saying “you will get a disgusting, synthetic version”. This then leads the
reader into a series of negative noun phrases “disgusting, synthetic version”.

In the following paragraph the writer describes how tea is important for Indians and how
it is a life force by stating that “tea is like blood or hormones or enzymes or whatever
fluid your body needs to function”. Which gives a bad impact on the reader and makes
them feel as if Indians became addicted to tea. The writer describes how people are
tired and exhausted from awful tea by saying “they beg for tea”.

To conclude, the writer wanted to express his views and ideas about how tea is horrible
and disgusting it was by stating that “it tastes and looks like leftover water in the sink
with sugar added”.
