到+place = has just arrived

昨天下午爸爸妈妈已经到家了 (Zuótiān xiàwǔ bàba māmā yǐjīng dàojiāle) = mom and
dad arrived home yesterday afternoon

你到洛杉矶了吗？飞机上还顺利吧？(Nǐ dào luòshānjīle ma? Fēijī shàng hái shùnlì ba)

=Have you arrived in LA? Did you have a smooth flight?

Steven 刚到宿舍就打电话回家 (Gāng dào sùshè jiù dǎ diànhuà huí jiā) = Right after
Steven arrived at his dorm, he called home.

我三点半到动物园，在那里等你。(Wǒ sān diǎn bàn dào dòngwùyuán, zài nàlǐ děng nǐ) =
I will arrive at the zoo at 3:30 and wait for you there.

到电影院别太晚，迟到不好。(Dào diànyǐngyuàn bié tài wǎn, chídào bù hǎo) = Don't

arrive the movie theatre too late. It is not good to be late for movie.

Subj. + 到 + Place + Verb Phrase

到学校别忘了问老师好。(Dào xuéxiào bié wàngle wèn lǎoshī hǎo) = Don't forget to greet
your teacher when you arrive school.

到公司给我短信我们电话会议 (Dào gōngsī gěi wǒ duǎnxìn wǒmen diànhuà huìyì) =

please text me after you arrive at company and we will have a conference call

到植物园我先排队买票 (Dào zhíwùyuán wǒ xiān páiduì mǎi piào) = I will wait in line to
purchase tickets after I arrive the botanical garden.

哥哥到医院做了体检 (Gēgē dào yīyuàn zuòle tǐjiǎn) = Older brother arrived the hospital
and had physical check up.

年轻时 Mellisa 到大城市找工作 (Niánqīng shí Melissa dào dà chéngshì zhǎo gōngzuò) =
Mellisa went to big cities to look for job when she was young.

地震 (Dìzhèn) = earthquake
影响 (Yǐngxiǎng) = to affect
厨房 (Chúfáng) = kitchen
感觉 (Gǎnjué) = to feel
卧室 (Wòshì) = bedroom

A: Elly 昨晚中国有地震，你听说了吗？
Zuó wǎn zhōngguó yǒu dìzhèn, nǐ tīng shuōle ma
Elly yesterday there was an earthquake in China, did you hear that?

B: 是的， 我到办公室看见短信了。
Shì de, wǒ dào bàngōngshì kànjiàn duǎnxìnle
Yes, I saw a short message at the office.

A: 有影响你家人吗？
Yǒu yǐngxiǎng nǐ jiārén ma
Was there any impact on your family?

B: 还好没有影响他们。 我到家打电话回家给爸爸妈妈， 他们还好。

Hái hǎo méiyǒu yǐngxiǎng tāmen. Wǒ dàojiā dǎ diànhuà huíjiā gěi bàba māma, tāmen hái hǎo
It's ok, it didn't affect them. I went home and called mom and dad, they're doing well

A: 他们有感觉吗？
tā mén yǒu gǎnjué ma
Did they feel it?

B: 我爸爸说有一些，他到厨房喝水，感觉到一些，回到 卧室没有感觉了。
Wǒ bàba shuō yǒu yīxiē, tā dào chúfáng hē shuǐ, gǎnjué dào yīxiē, huí dào wòshì
méiyǒu gǎnjuéle
My dad said there were some, he felt it when he went to the kitchen to drink water but
no when he went back to the bedroom

A: 希望这次不要影响太多人。
Xīwàng zhè cì bùyào yǐngxiǎng tài duō rén
I wish this time it won't affect alot of people

2017 Nián 8 yuè 8 rì zhōngguó jiǔzhàigōu fāshēng 7 jí dìzhèn
In August 8, 2017 there occurred an earthquate in Jiuzhaigou China at 7 scale.
发生 (fāshēng) = to take place

九寨沟是著名的旅游景点，游客很多，
Jiǔzhàigōu shì zhùmíng de lǚyóu jǐngdiǎn, yóukè hěnduō
Jiuzhaigou is a famous tourist attraction, there are many tourists
著名 (zhùmíng) = famous
旅游景点 (lǚyóu jǐngdiǎn) = tourist attraction

被称为中国的黄石公园,
Bèi chēng wéi zhōngguó de huángshí gōngyuán
It is known as China's yellowstone park
黄石 (huángshí) = yellow stone

这次地震不仅造成人员伤亡，也破坏了不少景点
Zhè cì dìzhèn bùjǐn zàochéng rényuán shāngwáng, yě pò huài le bù shǎo jǐngdiǎn
This time the earthquate not only caused human casualties, but also destroyed many attractions
造成 (zàochéng) = cause
伤亡 (shāngwáng) = casualties
破坏 (pò huài) = damage
