Positions and Functions:
Grounds and Maintenance Department – is the activity of keeping outside areas clean, beautiful, and tidy. It involves
tasks like pruning, gardening, and mowing. Indoor gardens, nurseries, and potted plants are also included in the definition.

Housekeeping and Custodial Department – custodial services, recycling, off-campus deliveries, material movement,
and room and exterior set-ups are all provided by housekeeping services.

Recreational Services and Department – manages various recreational activities and services for guests, including
swimming pools, fitness centers, guided tours, sports programs and cultural events. It also handles spa and wellness
services, and collaborates with sales and marketing staff to promote activities and packages. The department’s mission is
to enhance the visitor experience and make stays memorable and pleasurable.

Hospitality Department – the hospitality industry encompasses a wide range of enterprises that provide services to
customers. The industry is divided into three categories: lodging, food and beverage, and travel and tourism. All of these
areas are customer-focused, but they deliver varying levels of service at times.
Food and Beverage Department – the F&B department is often the largest in a hotel and is responsible for the purchase
of materials, and goods, as well as their storage, retrieval processing, and serving. Serving can take places as part of
room service, in hotel bars and restaurants, and in banquet and meeting spaces.

Front desk – they are responsible for greeting and welcoming guests, receiving and delivering all incoming and outgoing
mail and packages, answering all calls and directing as needed, scheduling meetings, and coordinating office activities.

Bell Staff – the primary duties of the Bell Person are to assist guests with check-in/check-out processes, drive the hotel
vehicle according to scheduled vehicle runs and on an as needed basis for guests, and accommodate guests during their
stay in an attentive, courteous and friendly manner.
Guest Services – the assistance and advice provided by a hotel to those people who make reservations, stay and buy
products and services at the hotel. Guest services is how a hotel responds when things go wrong, or a guest expresses a
need. Guest service is reactive.
