First Day of Industrial Attachment
• Check the address and time for the reporting duty
• Proper dress code – may ask the HR if you don’t know
• Arrive at least 15 minutes earlier
• Introduce yourself fully
• Look pleased to be there
• Being friendly and polite
• Listen carefully
• Make notes for reference
• Ask questions if doubt or do not understand
• Seek appropriate support if required
• Adapt to the new environment and new people
• Well discipline
Abide by Contract
• Observe and Obey the rules and regulations of the company
• Comply with the instructions and orders of the Industry Mentor as
the job required
• Seek approval from the Industry Mentor before making any copies
of propriety materials for inclusion in the project report
Termination of Attachment
• Abide by Contract/ SoU
• Student has right to report the condition and situation of working
• Discuss with IVE Supervisor and consult the opinions
• Terminate without valid reasons by the student will cause FAIL in
IA
• Company has right to terminate the attachment with warnings
before
• Terminate with evidences by the company will cause FAIL in IA
Working Attitude
• Aware of working hours of the company
• Be punctual
• Seek approval from both IVE Supervisor and Industry Mentor on
the date and time to be released from work to carry out the IA-
IBSP, if required
• Seek approval from both IVE Supervisor and Industry Mentor on
any leave – leave will only be granted for valid reason
• Be a team member
Office Etiquette
• Ask before you borrow ANYTHING
• Clean up after you use something
• Do not fall asleep at your desk
• Do not leave your phone on your desk ringing without you there
• Do not get drawn into office politics
• Listen when others talk to you
• More observation
• Be honest
Safety
• Your safety is your personal responsibility
• You have to follow the correct procedures
• Always keep the communication with your Industry Mentor and
team members
• Ensure to aware the emergency exits and equipment
• Be alert and awake on the job
• Be conscious as to what others are doing around you
• Be attentive at all times to your work surroundings
• When in doubt, contact your Industry Mentor for instruction,
guidance
• Never take risks when it comes to safety
• Obey safety signs, stickers and tags
• Report serious injuries immediately to your supervisor and get
emergency assistance
• Ensure proper personal protective equipment are provided

1. Self – motivation
Take initiative to ask for additional assignment if you finish those on
hand
2. Be Proactive
Look for work when mentor has not mapped out detail work plan
3. Problem Solving
Review relevant guidelines & operation manuals first, and ask
colleagues for help
4. Attention to Details
Pay attention on work, minimize errors even in data entry or filing
5. Project Management Skills
Take initiative to participate in projects
6. Time Management
Plan and Write a to-do list
Prioritize your tasks
Take the time you need to do a quality job

Keep your supervisors updated on the work progress

Insurance
• VTC Insurance Policy provides a general insurance coverage for all
academic related activities of the students as required by the
curriculum of the programmes
• The insurance coverage is only intended as a nominal benefit
• It should not be taken as a comprehensive personal insurance
• Students who wish to have comprehensive personal insurance
coverage may arrange separate cover with insurance companies at
their own cost

• Full information and true facts of the incident shall be provided,
e.g. valid medical certificate, photos, police report
• Inform IVE Supervisor immediately and record the incident/
