Why are laws essential to society?

>The law is important for a society for it serves as a norm of conduct for citizens. It was also made to
provide for proper guidelines and order upon the behavior for all citizens and to sustain the equity on
the three branches of the government. It keeps the society running.

What is the difference between “LAW” and “Jurisprudence?

>The main difference between Law and Jurisprudence is that the Law is a system of rules and guidelines,
generally backed by governmental authority and Jurisprudence is a theoretical study of law, by
philosophers and social scientists.

How is Criminal Law distinguished from Civil Law?

>Civil law and criminal law are totally different from each other and have their way of pursuing the legal
authorities. Criminal law is the body of law that refers towards the crime and illegal activities that fall
into the category of crime according to the law of a particular state or country. Civil law is the legal
system which deals with the overall scenario and is responsible for unfairness and setting up rules
against it. The basic difference between criminal and civil law is that criminal law refers towards the
punishment of the crimes, whereas civil law focuses more on the compensation of loss of the sufferer.

What are the origins of law?

>In former times, legislation was use to define natural laws and legal codes. Legislation defined in this
way still exists in a modern state with a representative system of government, but its roots lie in Greek
and Roman history. … By the 17th century, statutes enacted by Parliament took precedent over common
law.

How are law enacted in the Philippines?

>It takes 3 readings and an approval from both chambers along with the signature of the President
before a bill can become a law, known in the Philippines as a Republic Act. The full process is outlined by
the 1987 Constitution.
