Examination Rules

1. Students must present a valid LSC Student ID to gain entry to an examination.

2. You are required to arrive at the Exam venue by 1:30 pm on 13th October 2023
3. Duration of the exam: 2 Hours from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Closed book Examination).
4. Please refer to the seating arrangement, this indicates the desk number which you will be
sitting.
5. Students who arrive after the exam has started will not be admitted to the exam hall. It is
your responsibility to make necessary transport arrangements. Any delays/cancelations
of trains, buses etc. will not be accepted as extenuation circumstances for missing the
exam.
6. There are to be no toilet breaks during the exam. This rule will be strictly enforced, so
students must ensure they have been to the bathroom before entering the exam room.
7. Talking is strictly forbidden from the time of entry until the time of leaving the
examination room.
8. All students must place their ID cards on their desk for official checks.
9. All bags and coats must be placed in the designated area.
10. Mobile phones must be switched off and put away. If any mobile phones are found or heard
during the examination, they will be confiscated, and you will be reported to the Examinations
Board.
11. The use of non-programmable calculators is permitted in the examination. Students are not
allowed to use a dictionary or a mobile phone as a calculator.

12. Students must bring their own exam writing materials (pens, pencils). Students are not allowed
to borrow any materials (e.g., rulers, pens, rubbers, calculators) from other students during
examinations. Please ensure that you have the correct materials for all examinations.
13. Students are not allowed to remove official examinations materials from the exams room.
14. Students may not eat but may bring water into the examination. Fizzy drinks (e.g., Cola) may
not be brought into the examination room.
15. Students must not disturb other students during the exam.
16. If a student requires the help of an invigilator at any time, they must remain in their seat and
raise their hand. An invigilator will come to them.
17. Students are not allowed to leave in the first 30 minutes, nor the last 15 minutes of the
examination. If a student wants to leave at any other time, they must raise their hand and wait
for an invigilator to collect their examination paper and answer the booklet. Leaving the desk
without permission may mean the paper does not get marked.
Failure to comply with the Examination Rules may lead to disciplinary action and may result
in termination of registration.

CHEATING IN AN EXAMINATION
The school regards cheating in an examination as a very serious issue.
Definition of cheating:
Cheating is defined as any attempt to gain an unfair advantage in an assessment (including
examinations).
Cheating therefore includes:

• Copying from other students

• Taking unauthorised materials into examinations (even accidentally)
• Collusion
• Impersonation
• Plagiarism
• Unauthorised access to unseen examination papers
• Attempted or proven bribery
• Work copied from another source and not clearly acknowledged or referenced.
Any student found to be cheating in an examination will be reported to the University and
disciplinary action may be taken.
