English –language TV programs in my country

Introduction
The intention of this report is to determine the effect that English programs have in my country
and whether its positive or negative. It will also comment on the consequences these may have
and changes that could improve the overall quality of national entertainment.

Popularity of imported programs

In terms of popularity, imported programs dominate 75% of the TV domain in my country.
These programs, produced by big companies with a lot of resources, have captivated the public
with their high production and engaging content. Despite being in English, people in my country
are drawn to these shows due to their universal appeal.

Effects on local culture

English programs in our country have limited the opportunities for local productions. As a result,
Romanian culture, particularly children, has been heavily influenced by these programs.
On one hand, English programs have provided children with the opportunity to learn a few
expressions in English, which is beneficial for their language skills.
On the other hand, children often want to imitate the behaviors they see on screen. This can
sometimes lead to negative situations if the behaviors shown are not appropriate.

Recommended changes
As far as I'm concerned, the government should fund native programs, thus giving them an
opportunity to produce quality content that will encourage talented individuals within our
country to showcase their creativity and contribute to the local entertainment. Local tv shows
also preserve and promote the Romanian culture.
In conclusion, a funding could be helpful and an important contribution to the Romanian culture.
