51Non-faculty shall ave a maximum of three hours only per week only to
be recited before or after regular office hours provided no full time
‘faculty can handle the subject
In other campuses where extra loads cannot be paid in cash due to
budgetary constraints, faculty members will be extendedigranted
compensatory overtime credits (COC) during Saturdays, Sundays and
Holidays but not to exceed eight (8) hours a day. This shail be covered
by an office order.
Nine hours a week of extra teaching is allowed to faculty members
provided that they maintain a very satisfactory performance rating
during the last consecutive semesters
“The time for overloads should be outside the regular official time and
the one-hour lunch break.
Faculty members desiring to do extra teaching in other departments
or colleges should secure permission from their department head
and College Dean. Extra teaching load shall only be compensated if
the load is indicated in the official Report on Faculty Load,
‘Any load in excess of three (3) preparations should be allocated an
excess workload of one (1) hour per week or a total of eighteen (18)
hours per semester in form of service credit or a monetary payment,
subject to the availabilty of funds.
Emergency Load
When no qualified faculty member is available to teach a subject, an
additional load of no more than three (3) units, may be given to
faculty member carrying three (3) overloads. This load is considered
lan emergency overload and be subjected to the crediting of one (1)
hour excess load or an equivalent of six (6) hours for one (1) day for
service credit or @ payment, subject to the availabilty of funds.
‘An emergency overload must be justified by the department head in
writing and approved the Dean/Executive Director.
The schedule for an emergency overload must be outside the regular
official time and the one-hour lunch break.
Payment for an emergency overload will be made only if it is
reflected in the Report on Faculty Load.
